Glad it worked out for you.

Your joking right?

To help you out, the Golf Tee Mod is for x35i/xi's only.

You're kidding me right? I really have no idea why you cant on his 325i, but you can on our 335i's only. I thought all BMW exhausts comes with the butterly valve.

Because 335's have dual exhausts... During warmup one exhaust is closed to aid in warming the system up faster. The 2nd one doesn't open until you WOT or something along those lines... At Idle and cruise the flap stays closed, but at WOT it opens wide open...

On a 325, it's a single exhaust system, therefore it doesn't have a flap... Imagine it having a Flap and it's closed during the warmup period, now imagine a garage, with a car running and the garage door closed... Same affect, more or less

Check RealOEM.com - the '02 325i has a valve in one tip, with dual tips on the single muffler.

The golf-tee mod was around before the 335 ever came out.

Nobody spends the time to check things out anymore. Too easy to include a silly image and call it a day I guess.

Looks like I'm one of the few here that didn't care much for the golf tee mod. Sounded great at idle and moving through parking garages, but the droning when cruising around town was very annoying. Maybe it's because I'm north of 50 years old, but I suspect that twenty years ago I would have complained that it wasn't loud enough!

why bother with this...just unplug the harness to the valve...do-able and reversible in like 30 secs.

Hi, first post. I just picked up my 335is and was thinking about doing this mod. One option I haven't seen and was wondering if anybody has tried is refitting the hose over a vacuum cap. Of course I can try it myself, but I didn't know if anybody had and if the hose would actually fit over it (and you could get it back out).

Or just put a ball bearing in the vacuum line.

Yeah, I've read the whole thread (and the sister thread for the actuator disconnect), but I still don't know if anybody else really knows if there are any stored codes for that option. I will probably go the BB route, but it occurred to me that plugging the connector with a vacuum cap and plugging the hose could be combined. It was just an idea.
