Image tracking software

Hi Guys,

I know some of you have experience about exposing copyrighted images to the internet.

What solutions are out there to detect image theft etc ? Based on robots / image metadata I guess ?

This is for Naomi's website so I want to get it right.. And I've really no experience of "caring" about digital content.

Cheers chaps!
Dave

Watermark is not an option as she's a textile designer.. Ruining the images with a watermark is quite counterproductive

But that website looks usefull.. will bookmark..

I think you're always going to get this problem of image theft. I seem to remember Paul having one of his images illegally used by Dell - something you wouldn't expect from a multi-million dollar company!

I think it's one of those things which is difficult to stop happening, and there's always going to be some risk there, but there are various ways of helping prevent it.

First thing would be to add a simple copyright Meta tag, and then look at maybe putting a small copyright logo in the bottom corner, but there's not masses of things you can do other than what iStockphoto do. Tineye.com is a way of finding them though!

Difficult one...

Will the use of the images cause harm?

Just make sure there is some form of advertisement on them and it can only benefit.
