Potenza RE960AS and RE970AS tread patterns

I have a full set of Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position tires on my e92 and the rear 2 need replaced. The front tires are fine. I want to replace the rears with Potenza RE970AS (these replaced the RE960AS). My question is, do you think the tread patterns are close enough?

RE960AS

If this is a RWD model I would say that this would be an acceptable mix with the 970A/S installed on the rear axle.
