328xi sounds like crap low speeds * vid added

So anytime i drive real slow pulling up to a drive through or a gate to punch in numbers the car just sounds horrible and the noise just gets faster as the speed increases then goes away i assume.

It sounds as if something is spinning slow over and over then increases as the car goes from say 5-10mph.

Anyone know what i'm talking about? Hard to record and pick up in the audio on an iphone.

*unrelated but...really disappointed in the non existent exhaust on this car, even a 2.0T a4 has a more distinct exhaust or a base tsx for that matter

added a video...

or save alot of money and deal with some drone and gain alot of sound with a muffler delete. 800-1000 for sound and no power is hard to swallow.

ok even if its 500. you still gain absolutely no power and no weight loss, with a muffler delete, you save at least 20 pounds and if anything is louder.

You are actually wrong! Although the Bmw performance exhaust give very little gain, it still does. According to bmw site you gain about 5hp and 3ft-lbs of torq

OP, I think I know what youre talking about. I have a '07 328xi. I have a similar sound at low speeds. Higher-pitched and kind of whiney. But it disappears when the car is warmed up.

Im curious as well...

look, if you know anything about cars, axle backs do nothing for engine power. Only full cat-backs give you power. if you change only the muffler (which PE is) you wont gain nothing. muffler deletes weight loss alone is worth it.

im sorry but if you feel "5 hp" (thats being modest) for 700+ is justifiable then by all means.

oh and the PE does sound good, and doesnt drone. so if you wanted a louder car without being annoying then maybe 700 dollars is worth it, i just dont see the point, when a muffler delete give you more sound but is slightly annoying and saves you weight. at less then 1/4 of the price.

You'll gain one of two things: jack and shit. Take your pick.

Had a 2009 328xi- did a mustang dyno. Gained NOTHING. Sorry Charlie.
If you can, run a mustang dyno and see the results for yourself- maybe you'll fare better than I did brother..
You'll sound really good though when driving around the hood!

I don't know very much about cars, that's why I am on this forum reading through threads and learning. I just wanted to correct your statement when you said the PE gives no gain. If the PE does not give any gain as you stated then that would mean BMW is giving false advertising on their site. So in conclusion, the PE does give a gain just not very much. P.s. you sound very angry for a reply that was not intentionally trying to insult you.

If what you said is true, then how is BMW able to say there is a gain? Wouldn't that cause lawsuits?

nooo not angry at all man lol but most advertisement for intakes and exhausts lie about the gains. I didnt mean to insult you and im sorry if i did. Pe is a nice piece, but 700 dollars is alot in my opinion.

I know man, not sure why they even mention it. My dyno showed no gains, and of course, I no longer have the readout in my possession as I got rid of it 6 months ago..

I would be interested in seeing your dyno results. Just be sure to do some runs PRE PE
