Wheels - decisions

I want to upgrade from 18s to 19 on my 325i, and can't choose between old school deep dish style or 313s

Bbs style deep dish

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3007219136...#ht_2804wt_922

BMW oem 313

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3961412.htm

What would you go for? Any others to consider?

That'll be my dilemma once I get a coupe.. a hard decision... worth you opening a poll / vote and ascertain general consensus. Deep down however, I bet you already know which one you leaning more towards ;-)

Genuine over reps, therefore 313's however, I am a BBS LM fan so one of the hardest decisions when upgrading alloys - BBS LMs !!!

I would say its got to be 313 or CSL I tend to prefer the factory look when it comes to mods.

Those BBS look old school to me. sort of 80's Golf.

Only my opinion mind.

I love the old school look growing up around e30s! azev As or old school ACS rims would be great.

Leaning towards the lm reps, but the fact they are replicas is putting me off, hence 313s

Tough call buddy!! Tough Call! 313 will reap a higher resale value over reps BBS LM's or otherwise so for that, I'd go 313... but LMs are such classics it's hard not to take them into consideration!!

I've been going over this lately, I must have looked at literally hundreds of pics of E92\E93's for ideas on wheels. Unfortunately it seems to be almost impossible to find an option which

A) Actually suits the car. Maybe I am too fussy but it seems very difficult to find anything which makes me think "YES, they are the ones". Also far be it from me to a judge but some of the choices I have seen, especially on the US forum look absolutely horrid.

B) Hasn't been done to death i.e. CSL reps, 313's etc.

The only ones that I can say with any certainty look absolutely stunning are some of the Vorsteiner wheels but they cost an absolute fortune and I am not paying 1/4 of the price of the car again for a set of wheels!

I will probably settle for a set of CSL reps as that style probably suits the car more than most, they don't really pop for me though so we'll see.

Re csl reps, do you mean the ones by Alufelgen or some other make?

Seen some 19" m3 ones on eBay but not sure about fittment. Is there a guide somewhere that gives you size/et range you can go for on the e90 to retain original rolling radius and not upset things like the speedo/cruise control?

To be honest if I was going for CSL reps I'd stick to one of the better known brands like Alufelgen or VMR (available in the UK) as at least you have some inkling of what your getting. I would not buy replica wheels on ebay from Polan, China or wherever for two reasons.

1) You won't know what you are getting in terms of quality. What might look like a good deal could end up costing you if they are poor quality (they are probably cheap for a reason)

2) If you do have any issues, you won't have any comeback, unless they also have a physical shop\premises in the UK as well as the ebay store.

Been offered a set of 19" mv4s with Bridgestone rfts for £850

Not what I was after but does keep with oem theme and suits the e90 from pics ive seen.

Thoughts? Is this a good price?

I woudl go for MV4's but without tyres so that you can put NON run flats on.

With regards to price - it all depends how good the tyres are. I would expect to pay circa 350 - 500 for MV4's without tyres.

It's funny how many people now regard CSL's as being the common wheel of choice. I drive between London and Essex on a regular basis and see so many bmw's but I've yet to see one with CSL wheels.

I think it's more the case that CSL's are the common choice for people who frequent bmw forms.
