Opinions on Magnaflow muffler

So guys, here's the situation..I have purchased Magnaflow mufflers a few weeks back and have them sitting here along with my Hamann quad rear diffuser and Cyba tips. I plan to get all installed this weekend however I'm a bit undecided whether to install the Magnaflows or keep the muffler stock. Thing is, I don't want my car roaring down the road nor do I want any drone. Essentially, I'm worried it will be too loud for my liking. After listening to numerous sound clips, I'm STILL on the fence lol. What do you guys think? All please share your opinions and experiences with Magnaflow mufflers...so it can help me decide what the heck to do this weekend

Darren

I don't know how it will sound like on your car, but my custom magnaflow setup on my old E36 was loud as hell, tons of droning...but it did sound good.

Does the 335 utilize resonators?

+1 Had a custom Magnaflow on my last car (3.0L V6) And it woke my neighbors up and destroyed my hearing at highway speeds.

booo that's not what I want to hear. Sounds like I may just stick with the stock mufflers!

I have some magnaflow mufflers on my car with an H pipe and resonator delete. Check in my profile under threads I started to check it out. I think I also have some videos up there. Sound wasn't great since I live next to a highway but overall I like it. Slight drone ~2k but good luck finding an exhaust besides stock that doesnt.

I'm AT and still think its ok. Drove 5hrs to vegas and 5 hours back last weekend without problems or anybody complaining.

I had a Magnaflow setup on a 2.5L V6 and it was load as hell. Put an extra resonator in the system and that helped a little. But freeway speeds droning was ANNOYING. BUT, it did sound pretty mean just cruisin around

I went with the briefcase style vs. the round ones. The round ones dont exactly muffle much. Too loud for my tastes.

I have them as part of the Ultimate Racing catback. They sound great. Nice and deep. Fits the car perfectly. Not sure what model you bought. Post a pic.

Before you totally scrap your plans, remember that a lot of what people are complaining about here with droning and loudness is on NA cars. Which is a totally different situation. Turbo cars can have much less muffler and still be quite tame. I was very surprised at how mellow the AE is on my car give the size of the mufflers. Some thing like this on my last M3 would have been really loud. Just my .02

I have magnaflows and it does drone a little when cruising. However, if you have a jb3 or any other tune install, the drone becomes much much less noticeable at cruising speeds. I know this first hand as I did magnaflows first then jb3.

So here's the question, would I be better off installing these Magnaflows, doing a muffler delete, or .....just leave it stock??

if you are running stock midpipes, it is my impression that you would be just fine with the magnaflow mufflers. you still have the GIANT resonators in the stock midpipes, and remember, exhausts are always loud and drony when they are new, i found that the exhaust on my car calmed down after 1000 miles and is VERY nice, only improves with more and more miles. [i dont have magnaflow, just saying in general]
