Finished my OEM style interior- before/afters- E92 LCI M Sport

I finally got all the parts installed, last holdout was a shift knob. Ended up with the 'ZHP' weighted one from the E46 via Tischer. I love it.

The goal was to keep it OEM but make it sportier and more unique. I especially wanted to create some contrast. Not that I ever thought it was bad looking to begin with.

Here is a list of things I did (all OEM):
-BMW Performance:
---Electric alcantara steering wheel V2
---E-brake, alcantara boot
---Alcantara shift boot
---Aluminum pedals
-Brushed aluminum trim kit
-'Euro' split armrest (giant PITA to install in an E92)
-E46 'ZHP' weighted shift knob
-Rubber floor mats, carpeted on drivers' side
-Added Logic7 tweeter to dash mid-range (not visible)

All ordered from Tischer/getBMWParts. I am very happy with these upgrades and would recommend any/all of them. My favorites are the aluminum trim, Performance pedals, and split armrest.

BEFORE (100% stock M sport pkg)

This interior is just about perfect imo. The BMW performance seats while awesome don't match the car at all.

Did you do the installation for the steering wheel yourself?

Yes! I would love to get some BMW Performance seats; even though I'm not afraid to spend money, they'd cost double what all the other interior mods already cost me (I did these upgrades over the course of a year, BTW). Maybe I'll get some Recaro Sportster CS at some point w/ VAC seat mounts. BMW Performance seats are based off of those, after all.

I had it done at Helix Motorsports in Philadelphia. If it was the non-electric steering wheel, I'd have done that myself. I saw the bundle of wires this came with this one and was like yeaaaah ....

Perhaps - the ZHP knob certainly has a better feel than the M Sport knob it came with though. It's slightly heavier and taller. There is a more positive feeling entering gears and the top is more rounded, which fits my shift style (over-the-top palm grip).

I like. Hows alcantara to the feel, every day use? Do you prefer it to the perf leather? I'm due to retrim my steering wheel (all scuffed from watch) and I have an option to get it as custom as i like. Appreciate your feedback.

For everyday use I preferred the perforated leather, honestly. The alcantara is unique and definitely has a 'cool' factor but doesn't feel as durable (and most certainly isn't). I take care of it (wipe down with moist microfiber towel every week) and it still looks brand new.
Depends on where you're getting the steering wheel done, but I know bmwsteeringwheels.com can do parts of the wheel in alcantara for you (I think). Then you'd have the best of both worlds.
