Would be interested if I find out mine is welded or not, 3/07 build date. Any way to tell from the outside or do I have to tear it apart?

The price has always been $1695. There was a group-buy, but the price wasn't any lower. I believe the Quiafe is the best bang for your buck right now.

Installation is very straight forward and takes less than a day. If a shop can not give you an accurate quote or sure about what other parts are needed, I would not take your car there for the install. Chances are they have no clue on how to install the Quaife into your 335i diff housing.

So the only for sure way to know if your diff. is welded or not is to remove the diff. housing!? That sucks big time!

Is is pre or post- March 07 335's that have the welded diff.??

I believe it is post March 07, but there is only one way to find out to be 100% sure.

Yes, you are correct. The Quaife install is very straight forward.

So a March 07, 2007 production date would mean that the diff. is not welded right?

How much to install the diff in a 1/07 build sedan?

"In drag-race style, straight-line acceleration runs, this results in a close to ideal 50/50 power split to both drive wheels, resulting in essentially twice the grip of an ordinary differential (they don't call open diffs "peglegs" for nothing).

In cornering, while accelerating out of a turn, the Quaife biases power to the outside wheel, reducing inside-wheel spin. This allows the driver to begin accelerating earlier, exiting the corner at a higher speed."

If rebuildable diff cores become available, we will offer complete diff housings with the Quaife installed and ready to bolt in!!! Price TBD.

Pice is $1695, in stock ready to ship for FREE to the 48 states!!!

Harold, what's up man, can you guys do the install out of your shop? Curious to know about the welding as well. can you source what's needed to take care of that part. Whats your out the door installed price? Im for sure in for the LSD.

Price installed is $2417.66 plus CA sales tax.

An installation such as the Quaife will be difficult when done outside of a shop environment.

We don't have a source for the ring and pinion yet. However, if you can find a used diff housing, we are in luck. We can install the Quaife in that used unit and you still have your original one in case you decide to sell your 335i.

Purchase the Quaife unit with new seals from us and you can have it install by a reputable shop with experience installing diffs in your home town.
