lingering questions about Cobb AP...

Just got my air intake, about to pull the trigger on cobb ap have heard its user friendly and easy to install/uninstall with decent hp gains. I have also heard it increases your gas mileage?!? is this true, I find it hard to believe, maybe someone who has it could share their experiences thanks

with the gain in HP, and you keep off the gas, you might see 1-2 mpg gain. Nothing major, or noticeable since a tuned car is a fast car . Last thing you should worry about is mpg when tuning a car for power.

thats what I was thinking, If I want to go faster I probably wont see any better gas mileage

Got my Monday, car is a blast to drive! Def increase in power, it's not "surprisingly quick" like it is stock. It's "o ya, it's fast". Easiest thing you'll ever install. Biggest burden is waiting, took like 15-20min...MPG increase? eh depends how you drive.

The COBB is the easiest to install, you get free updates & access to additional maps (so if you decide to go from Stage 1 to Stage 2 in the future), its the easiest to data log with & and there are substantial power gains.

It's possible your MPG will go up since you won't have to floor it to get up to speed -- Running Stage 2+FMIC & the car feels like it's idling at 80 (you sneeze & somehow the cars doing 90+). But like any tune, it's likely any gains in MPG will be cancelled out when you decide to put your foot down & get the adrenaline going

And the next few. did a 200 mile drive averaging 32 mpg on a light foot at 80. Canes it for 30 and the low 5 or so mpg brings the average down to 20 overall

23mpg before tune, first month or so of ownership.
22mpg with stage 1 sport
20mpg with stage 1 aggressive and lots of data logging pulls
21mpg with stage 1 aggressive and 15% e85

At the end of the day I could probably get back up to 23 if I drove the car like I used to. With each power bump I started going WOT a bit more. I've become more comfortable with the car so I tend to open it up a bit more than I used to. I'm happy with 21-22mpg and a little bit of e85 in there. I realize the tune doesn't take advantage of e85 but it cleared up my timing drops.

As long as you stay out of boost and depending on where your are driving city % vs highway % you can see around 23 MPG give or take ~2. I consistently got around 22.5 MPG for years with my driving style. I could probably edge out a touch more if I drove a little more conservative.

When I was running Stage 1 Sport as my DD Map, I was getting 25 MPG. After running Stage 2+FMIC for 2 weeks, it's already plummeted to 23 MPG. This 100% my fault tho
