My '07 is at an indy right now for an amp issue due to a water leak in the trunk also. I sure hope they are able to figure out/fix the leak issue, I can see no signs of a leak when looking in the trunk, but the amp got shorted out due to leak!

2011 E93 here with 12,500 miles. Zero issues. I think they worked out the kinks in the later models.
