No.

In theory they'd push more air to the intake, but we have turbo(s) doing that for us, so I don't see how they could help performance wise.

they direct more air from outside into intake. theoretically, they will help. you wont feel it, but it cant hurt. i have them.

I can see it pushing more (cooler) air from outside into the engine bay that in turn will get sucked up into the intake, rather than just having it suck up the warmer air given off from engine heat.

not a huge gain , but I am running the aFe super stock oiled drop in filter too. Mine are stealth so not cutsie stuff there but when I first installed and did a pull my JB spit out a code for Max air flow, so that tells me the combo does do something.

Yes the engine will pull cooler air like a cold air intake instead or recyling heat. Not a huge beleiver that the intake on a turbo car makes a huge difference.

Theory More air flow = more turbo

Everytime I see a car with air scoops, I can't help but think about the air that is being deprived from the radiator.

very minor amounts, but that also depends what kind of Scoop you have. I don't feel much of a difference, the response at higher speeds is a bit more crisp but i believe that the main restriction is the part that connects to the turbo's, as that is the main bottle beck.

Regarding the comments about dirt and bugs, I have had scoops for past eight months and have had zero increase in dirt and stuff sucked up to the filter. Though I don't live in a dusty climate. In the summer I lose lots of power in the heat -- if the scoops bring in just a little more cool air I think they may be worth it. Though I did not feel a "butt dyno" change when I installed them last winter.
