We did a few locally this month and all of them required welding and custom fitting. Any xi's that bolted right up?

I'd be interested to know if you have this exhaust working with the 2010 e90 328ix chassis. I'd prefer installing it myself and not taking my car to some hack exhaust shop for bending and welding.

I don't remember seeing the comment of it not fitting the 328xi when I ordered it from the site. Or I must of not fully read the description. I had mines installed this month on the e92 328xi 2008 coupe. They just had to weld it on.

I read this thread with huge excitement and thought that I had finally found my exhaust. I was previously about to pull the trigger on an Eisenmann but then saw this and got as far as going through the order process ... until I got to the shipping costs! $279 to ship to the UK!!
Back to trying to decide between an Eisenmann Sport or Race muffler for me then. Enjoy this great sounding exhaust my US compadres

We did a e91 328 xi wagon and a 2013 e92xi both required welding.

I am down to choosing between the BMW PE and this exhaust. I think this will go well with the AA tune. The only thing holding me back from this one is the drone. Has that been fixed?

Installation is key and you can definitely reduce any drone by playing around with the position.

I guess it would depend on how sensitive you are. I personally don't mind and but some one else might.

Hey andrew could you pm me a picture of how you guys welded the Xi, location etc n how it looks. I still seem to have it. I know some people noted to have minor adjustments to reduce the drone.

I personally do not mind the drone but people who sit in the car seem to :[

We did make an extension piece in between the exhaust and the factory pipe though.

AA Exhaust Installed

Gents,

Had the exhaust installed this past Saturday by a local shop, and all I can say is awesome! The first start up gave you that sound everyone is looking for. Sounded a lot like the original video Andrew posted on pg 1. I'm extremely pleased. I knew it sounded good when my wife told me she knew I was home from inside the house when I pulled up in the driveway! I do have some drone as others have said between 2-2.5K; however it is not bad at all, and frankly I enjoy it.

As far as the install, I have an xi 328 (E92), but the install and fit was easy. I did have to have it welded at the shop (attached a pic), but as far as fit and any other fabrications to make it fit... there were none. Took about an hour.

If anyone is on the fence about this, do it! It is a night and day difference between the stock exhaust.

wait till you put more miles on it sound gets better in my opinion, and drone seems to have gone down a bit as well.

OK, first post! After a few false starts, I finally had my AA exhaust installed last week. (I have a 2006 330xi with the Euro air box and K&N filter.) It did require a trip to a custom exhaust shop for some welding. I really like it, but there is a definite drone at 2K as others have reported. It's not too bad though. I only really notice it when I accelerate through 2K. If I'm cruising it's not bad. I'd rather it wasn't so noticeable, but it's not something that's going to cause me to go back to stock or anything like that. This is the only picture I have, but hopefully it helps give an idea of how the install goes with an xi.

Overall I dig it and the AA tune is next!

Thanks,

~Mark

To AA droners - try the wine cork mod. It really does help.

Never heard of this mod for this exhaust. Can you give us a few more details? Thanks.
