Jaber's E92 335i M-Sport build thread

Hey all! The mod bug only took a month or so to strike and I decided to have some fun with my newly acquired 2013 Sapphire Black Metallic 335i M-Sport. Picked it up in February from a Mercedes-Benz dealership with 40k miles as a weekend toy! It's fairly loaded with the only missing option I'd want being the HK audio system. All pics taken with my Galaxy Note 5.

Coming from a 2005 Acura TL was a pretty big jump! Here she is at the dealer getting ready to be traded in after 106,000 miles of problem-free driving (seriously, I only did routine maintenance). It used to be pretty modded but I turned back to stock several years ago (A-Spec kit, 19" Rays wheels, Tein SS coils, Comptech rear sway bar, Comptech exhaust, decklid spoiler, Type-S cats, AEM intake)

First drive: Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park

First wash, got rid of dealer badge, and added a slick matte black license plate frame (+5whp)

BMW Performance pedals installed! Really finished off the interior for me All I need now are some BMW Individual speaker grilles and the interior is finished.

BMW Performance exhaust installed! Sounds MUCH more refined and tuned than it did by unplugging the exhaust valve. Much less cabin drone and it absolutely screams at high RPM. Also an easy way of getting rid of that annoying cold-start rattle - Win, win! Car feels peppier off the line and maybe(?) less laggy from a stop. Overall, I am super happy with this exhaust system. My only complaint is the car is very quiet UNTIL you hit the gas, I was expecting a little rumble @ idle or something!

BMW Performance grille - wasn't a fan of the all black grilles, so I used the stock chrome rim with the performance grille's gloss black center. Looks absolutely killer in person and has a very classic BMW vibe going on.

Next mods:
  • PPK
  • VSRF Charge-pipe and intercooler
  • 18 or 19" wheels (I still think 18 looks the best with a beefy tire but some 19's are drool-worthy)
  • BMW Performance suspension (coils, springs, FSB) and M3 strut brace
  • CF rear diffuser or "iS" diffuser
  • deck-lid spoiler (still on fence on the spoiler)

I have the same car (but 2011). Have 19" wheels in gunmetal and love the look.

Skip the ppk, (it's a waste of money) and see if you can get a Cobb apv3 for your year or definitely jb4. Not sure if they had anything for 2013's, that's why I opted for a 2011 when I bought my last 335.

Congrats on the new 3! Nice job with the mods so far but I'd suggest also getting the Perf. shifter and e-brake handle.

I'm on the fence...something about beefy rear tires really does it for me.

Yeah, they look best for exactly 19 hours (if you're lucky)

Does model year matter? I thought it was just whether or you the N54/N55 but I could be wrong. PPK seems like enough for me as I don't street race or go to the track

Thanks! I like the Performance shifter and e-brake handle but I feel like the alcantara would be a little out of place unless I had the Performance wheel and other alcantara bits. What I REALLY want is a shorter shift knob

I believe you can order both the shifter and e-brake handle w/o the alcantara boots.

Ordered the Performance gloss black grilles but wasn't feeling the all black look so I used the black center with the standard chrome ring - looks killer! Retains the contrast, keeps the shape of the kidney grille, and matches the details in the headlights.

RW carbon fiber diffuser installed. Fit and finish looks pretty solid, installation was a pain though! However, it makes the rear end look much more aggressive and sporty compared to the standard grey M-Sport diffuser.

And a shot in the mountains

M3 style rear spoiler coming this week

Thanks! Purchased them through www.getbmwparts.com I believe they're stainless steel pedals

Decklid spoiler from emotors2000 (eBay seller) installed! Fitment and color match are PERFECT. $60 shipped - if you haven't done it yet, I highly recommend this mod! Totally transforms the rear end. I also debadged the rear after taking some pictures. Bella's butt job is complete.

M3-style side skirts coming in on Saturday - anyone have an awesome body shop recommendation in the DMV?

Let me know if you find a good place in the DMV! I've heard some good things about D&V auto body and even BMW of fairfax's collision center.

They have been sitting in my room...can't find time to drop them off @ the body shop

BMW Performance carbon fiber front lip should be installed this weekend though

Suspension and wheels are next. I'm being pretty picky about setup for next Spring/Summer. I love the design of the AG M359 but I've read so many horror stories about that company (shoddy construction, paint chips easily, bends easily, etc.) so I'm thinking of doing the M513 wheels from the F80 M3/M4. I haven't seen any pics of them on an E92, only E90. I love me a nice set of 18s with a chunky non-stretched sidewall.

Nice definitely get the skirts on asap I'm obsessed with them. Just pulled the trigger on that spoiler from emotors2000 after re-visiting this post. Looks great. Cobb CP and Turbosmart Dual Port come Monday. Now what to get for Christmas...

BMW Performance Carbon Fiber Front Lip This thing is LIGHT.

Such tasteful mods man, well done. What made you go with the the CF diffuser over the iS duffuser? I have the same exact car as you, color and everything and I can't decide which diffuser I want, leaning towards an iS one so that is why I'm curious haha.

Thanks man! I chose CF to save weight, obviously! Just kidding - eventually I will lower the car on KWs with some gunmetal/concave mesh 18s, so the CF rear diffuser and front lip should bring all of those elements together nicely.
