Procede wastegate compensation without autotune

Hi,
I'm running 5-23 stg1 map on my rev2.5se and I have wastegate rattle at idle and low load. I know that procede is able to set the wastegate position but I'm only reading about wastegate compensation related with autotune.

Does these user adjustable parameters only take effect with autotune? Am I doing it wrong or is there an other way to set the wastegate position?

Thanks.

I don't have a Procede but I did find this in an older post...

Quote:
To adjust base wastegate position, you will adjust the Wastegate Position user adjustable. The default value is 90%. If your car has wastegate rattle during idle, light cruise and decceleration conditions, try reducing this value. Reducing this value, will move the wastegates more open during these conditions. At the mimimum value of 30%, wastegates will be fully open. Try to keep this value as high as possible in order to maximize initial tip-in boost response. If your car has no wastegate rattle, you can simply leave the default value of 90% unchanged.
Sorry but it doesn't mention anything about having to be in autotune or not. I am sure some of the Procede guys will chime in to help you out. If not then you can always contact Vishnu support.

Drop the WG Position varible from 90 progressively downwards to 30. Between 70-50ish the rattle got worse, and a little better at 35ish for my car, but 90 is livable for me.

Didn't know that the value will be set immediately. First time I didn't hear any difference so I imagined that you have to set the values and then have to upload the "modified" map. But it's working great with a value of 50

With open wastegates you will have a certain lag. Will this lag be reduced when setting a higher value? Did anyone noticed a difference?

Hi guys,
Be careful not to confuse wastegate compensation with wastegate position setting. WG compensation is always active, with or without auto tuning enabled. All it does is compensate for mechanical wg stiffness to ensure that all cars enjoy responsive boost performance.

WG position setting is only active during cruise, deceel and idle and sets the physical wastegate position during these low load conditions. You can adjust this value in the user adjustable menu to dial out (or at least minimize) wastegate rattle. The lower the number, the more open the wastegate flapper is during these conditions.

Hope that clears things up
