Anything to make throttle more responsive?

I have a 2012 e92 335xi 6mt. 100% stock with 3k miles. I feel as if the engine isn't as responsive as I want it to be. When I rev my engine it doesn't blip right away. Maybe because it's more of a luxury car? I feel as if the M3s are more responsive. Anything I can buy to do this?

Also, I come from a M3... Should I get the US Remus race exhaust? I need the deep aggressive growl. It currently wimpers. I heard the Remus... It's okay. Anything more deep, aggressive? A lot of them out there are just plain loud and obnoxious. I need good tone and pitch. I also will be installing BMS 3.5" catless dp. What should I do?

Thanks,

n55 doesn't have a throttle IIRC. it's valvetronic takes care of teh "throttle duties." there is a throttle booster by sprint i believe, i think **********s sells it

Try the velocity throttle controller, back in asia these are very popular, more so than sprint booster, once you start driving with them, its hard to drive without it. im waiting for my trip back to asia and bringing one back for my car.

I've heard of sprint boosters... anyone want to chime in and confirm?
What about the velocity throttle controller?

Also, any more thoughts on the exhaust after the down pipe?

Honestly, back home i couldn't drive my car without it. Like it doesnt make ur car more powerful in anywayy, but it just feels so awesome to drive because if you step a quarter of the pedal, the car is basically thinking your stepping half the pedal. Which basically makes the pedal so damn sensitive, and because it multiplies the signal, the immediate surge is more. it definitely made the low end feel alot better. I like that my car was responsive to subtle changes with my foot!

When i get it installed, im happy to let anyone test it out (IN A STRAIGHT LINE), and not past the speed limit. Im in Boston.

BTW i tried both the velocity and sprintbooster, velocity is much more aggressive, and there are different levels of boost you can control, 4 in total.

One of the best ways to increase responsiveness of the car is to add a tune to the vehicle. I know that we've already got you set up on the aFe n55 intake, I'd recommend that you check out the BMS N55 Stage 2 tune that is available.

The Remus Exhaust does sound great on it's own and with the catless downpipes, I think it'll give you the exact sound that you're looking for. Either way, here's a sound clip of the Remus US Sound race exhaust with the OEM DP on the N55 platform for you to check out!

Like Mod Bargains mentioned, have you tuned your car yet?

Coming from asia, where its hustle and bustle like crazy, i used to be pretty aggressive in my driving, so the velocity was something i loved very much, cause i did just have to step 3/4 the throttle, and the car would be revving to the redline already.

People are alot more courteous here in America, and so you don't have to be that aggressive when ur changing lanes and stuff, but i'd still like to have it, cause it makes my car "FEEL" more powerful then it really is. (I cant really explain but you can really feel it).

After i sold my bimmer back home, and installed the velocity on my sister's mini, my dad drove her car and was like. Did you tune your sister's car too?! I barely stepped on the gas but the car just shoots off.

I strongly suggest you tune ur car with BMS stage 2. That thing is awesome! and if thats still not the response you want, i don't mind lending my velocity to you for a week to try out. If you pay for the shipping to and fro.

I have the JB4 Stage 2 Tune (I'll be installing tomorrow)
Do you guys carry sprint boosters?
I like Remus (pm me price again for it to my house please. I am thinking that or BMW PE and throw on quad tips.)

How hard is the install? I'm willing to try it as long as I can find a place to buy it afterwards LOL! I don't want to try it out and find out I can't buy it anywhere.. Such a tease!

Same as sprint booster, and actually just like the BMS tune, you just add in an extra connector in between the original two. Haha.

Wait, I'm confused... You're saying the install is almost the same as the BMS JB4 Tune? It doesn't plug into the same things though does it? I can do both?

Like how with the BMS you have to plug in an additional cable in between the original MAF sensor or TMAP sensor, its the same thing with velocity, in between the original sensors of BMW (at the throttle pedal itself, behind the throttle) you plug in a new cable for the velocity.

Sean (OP) I just realized I wrote all of this below, and you have an N55 (this will be your solution I believe, as soon as a DV/BOV is released for the N55).

Sean you're looking for better throttle response right? I think you should be looking at changing your Diverter Valves (DV)/Blow off Valve (BOV)

This is the only chart I've seen of real world testing done on a stock setup 1M (N54 motor 335IS Software has 333HP stock) and changing out the stock(oem) DV to aftermarket one (in this case a turbosmart). The results were to me pretty shocking.

Notice that the first graph - Stock is the broken lines (aftermarket is solid line). From the beginning RPM Range you see a huge gap on where the car is holding it's horsepower. It has a 25ft/lbs increase over stock in the earlier part of acceleration, later on not as much. Still you basically see what is going on here. Keep in mind no horsepower is actually being increased here - but the car is sustaining at a higher horsepower level throughout the rpm range.

The plastic stock DV is leaking bad even on a new car like the 1M (I'd hate to think about what is happening on an older vehicle as that plastic gets older). Follow up graph again shows much better response times.

Last graph is a manufacturer theoretical graph (made up) to more or less explain what is going on when you do an aftermarket BOV or DV. Anyway Sean you want to increase your throttle response this will definitely do that and fairly inexpensive considering.

he following dyno shows manifold pressure, and how just by switching to the Turbosmart Diverter Valves boost pressure is maintained.
