I have heard that you have to use ceramic tint. Is this true?

I understand how the tint can effect fading, etc, but as far as heat if you tint with ceramic which I have done on a previous vehicle ) But, if your car is sitting in 100 degree weather it seems that regardless of tint the car is going to be at leat 100 degrees inside. Like a potato in an oven.
A local shop has a box in which you put your hand under a heat lamp with ceramic tint and it was much less warm than the non ceramic.........help me understand how this helps my car.....

Hello
|
I've had ceramic on my previous vehicles, and I occasionally work in southern arizona where the temps reach up to 120. As long as you leave the windows popped open a bit it's amazing. Now with my e90 with NO ceramic, in arizona currently reaching only the low 100s with windows popped open, it's still stupid hot.
SO from my experience, I love ceramic, but since I didn't expect to go back to AZ and stay in california I opted out of ceramic originally.
