e92 Rear 19.9.5" et20 265/30/19 fitment...FINALLY!

Wekk it took cutting about 1" of fender out from the rear bumper up to the 90º point, then smoothing everything down but I *think* I've gotten rid of all the rubbing.

Won't know for sure until I load the car with 4 people but I did some hard driving over some serious dips and when there was lots of rub before, now there isn't any at all

here's a really fuzzy iPhone pic of the shaved rear - the rear bumper seam is towards the bottom of the picture - the tan looking stuff is sound deadening filler that's sandwiched in-between the fender.

Damn your brave ahha! Glad you got your rubbing taken care of or at least mostly taken care of for now.

What did you use to cut, a dremel?

Yup a dremel and about 10 cutting wheels then 2 sanding drums to smooth it out. Gonna paint the shaved areas next week as soon as my touch up paint arrives to keep the rust away.

Shoulda done it before the fender roll as it woulda been easier with the extra metal not folded up on itself but hindsight is 20/20 I guess.

99.999% gone! Just went to dinner with the wifey, took some big bumps full speed and only once did I get the most tiny rub on the fender liner.

Car is settled on the coil overs so next weekend I'm going to set the car totally even and then she's all set! Thank goodness!

why not just throwing a little negative camber??? I ran 19x9.5 (+21) w/ 265/30/10 wheels after roll/ slight pull/ negative camber...can ride with 4 people no rub only on BIG BIG bumps...but normally no rubbing at all.

I didn't want to stretch or distort the fender line, my fenders are still perfectly stock looking on the outside, no warp or lip at all. they are totally flat all the ay top to bottom.

Running -2.25 negative camber already, fender lining trimmed and now the shaved fender it's zero rub unless I totally bottom the car out and then it's just the fender lining which it totally ok with me.

glad it's finally done, just a little touch up paint on the inner fender well to keep the rust away and I never have to worry about fitment again

Get a dremel, some cutting wheels and cut the inner fender away - you'll see where it rubs because there will be no paint there, just trim to the line then throw some paint over it all to keep the rust away and you'll have no rub!

I just something similar yesterday, except I used a proper grinding tool and grinding disc. I fit 19x9.5 et22 with Pilot Super Sports 265/30/19 (super tall sidewall) without rubbing, except at complete full compression, which rarely happens. For all normal driving I no longer rub. That little metal nub where the bumper meets the fender is where most people rub.

Ya I was gonna use an angle grinder but felt it might be too gnarly, so I end with the dremel, ended up being super accurate.

yeah I end up running -3.0 of camber. When I took it to the shop the guy said i was already at -2.37/-2.42 lol. So I just told him set both sides at -3. And since then no prob. I was actually able to run 10.5 (+30) with a 255 tire.

Since you already shaved, make sure you don't roll your fenders now. Since the edge is uneven, it'll make your fenders rippled and warped.

Well I spoke too soon. with the car loaded up pretty good with people it still rubs during hard cornering up hills (severe load)

I think I'm throwing in the towel and taking the wheels to get 1mm shaved off the hub so I'll be running et21 and just be done with it.

where can you get your wheels shaved? I might be interested in this, you might want to shave 2-3mm just to be super safe, so you don't have to do everything over again.

I still rub a bit on plastic part of my bumper at full compression, but on normal driving I am fine. Also I rarely ever drive more than 1 other person in my car. Also have you tried raising your rear up a bit?

Sorry to revive this but I got a problem and this is the only thread I found that's closest to my situation.

I have 19x10 +22 in the rear and I put 10mm spacers with 245/35 tires and I rub where the fender and bumper meet also on the top arch of the fender liner. I cleared it perfectly fine without spacers but it just didn't look aggressive enough. Yes my fenders are rolled, I cut about 3-4 inches of my fender liner just like the OP, and I have -2.6 camber in the rear.

Question to the OP, what did you use to stick the fender liner onto the wheel well cuz when I hit corners aggressively I hear my tires hitting and it makes flapping noises

I still have to shave a couple mm to see if I can clear it, here's a pic.
