I have it in my X5.

Definitely my favorite out of all the colours.

I clean mine once a month, and have led interior lights. It looks ridiculously good!

It really depends on how you use the car. I bought mine CPO and there were some minor scuffs/abrasions on the outside bolster of the passenger seat back. The dealer had the surface of the bolster refinished and the repairs are virtually invisible (there was even a tiny hole in the leather and it is now gone). This was all done under warranty.

Taking the wear from the original owner as my guide, I've since been careful not to drag my hip across the bolster when entering the car, and my interior looks brand new (and very sharp).

If you expect to regularly drive or have passengers wearing dirty clothes, or carry kids or pets, oyster might not be the best interior color for you.

I have it also and I get dirty at work. Its not a big deal to me. The main parts that get dirty are the door panel were I rest my left arm and the bottom left support of the seat.
I just clean the interior 2x a year, and I have a family of 3.
I was concerned also but its not a big deal. Go for it.

I have Oyster in my 2009 335i, and never looked back.

I clean & protect it periodically with Optimum Protectant Plus and a microfiber and my seats are still looking great. Occasionally I've noticed some color transfer from wearing dark jeans, but the OPP takes it right out.

I actually think lighter interior colors that show a little color transfer and dirt are a good thing - they act as a reminder that you need to clean and condition your leather. I don't even do that great of a job, I only use cleaner and conditioner (off the shelf Turtle Wax or Meguiar's) a few times a year, and my nearly eight year old interior looks pretty damn close to new.

Light colors are only a problem if you don't plan on cleaning and caring for it, in which case you shoudn't be getting leather interior at all and should stick to the synthetics.
