JB4/Map 6 w/meth???

I'm trying to learn about map 6 with meth.
I would like to run higher boost for a couple 1/4 passes.
I'll be running 50/50 e85/93oct
Any links or advise would be great

Is your JB4 18 or 15ohm? That will impact how much boost you can run. I'm assuming you want to push it as close to the limit as possible, keeping safety somewhere in the back of your mind?

This is what I've done before on Map 6, on an older firmware than the newest release... I made sure that it was cold enough outside, this should probably wait if its 100+... I have 3 meth nozzles, my meth concentration was just under 100% and I had 100octane in my gas tank. Boost limit was set to 19.5 psi, and if you're AT you'll want to play with your shift damper, reducing it by 2 perhaps (then log) to reduce boost spikes post shift.

1500rpm: 11psi target, fuel 90
2000rpm: 12psi target, fuel 90
2500rpm: 12.5psi, fuel 90
3000rpm: 14psi, fuel 90
3500rpm: 15psi, fuel 85
4000rpm: 16psi, fuel 70
4500rpm: 17.5psi, fuel 50
5000rpm: 19psi, fuel 30
5500rpm: 17.5psi, fuel 30
6000rpm: 16psi, fuel 30
6500rpm: 14.5psi, fuel 30
7000rpm: 13.5psi, fuel 30

There have been plenty of threads discussing optimal shift points- find those for reference. Sufficient to say that there is no point to redlining a stock turbo 335i.

There are dozens and dozens of e90post members more qualified than I am to make what could be considered dangerous recommendations. I posted a log a while ago entitled "18psi log" on the other forum that you could search for to see how my car data logged under not these exact settings but very similar, if I recall correctly. It would probably be advantageous to have either a G5/15ohm board with CPS for added control.

Don't take my word for it start lower and log log log, raising boost incrementally and logging each time to monitor how your car reacts to the increased demand.

I'd also like to hear from other people who have tried manually mapping their boost on map 6, what their mods and conditions were/are, what settings they used, and what the results were.

Go for it! It's set up to run w/ race gas now. 97 or better I think. You'll find that your a bit closer to target and lower your additive to like 30-35 max. Terry hates when we do this but at 50/50 you should get the nod. Start with the default boost values and watch timing as you bump it via select boost. It's going to be hard to beat the pull you would get from a map 5 pass so I would try to copy your best curve in the boost selections corresponding rpms. Get the timing above 10 then cut the meth on with 30-35. This should have you just short of 19 psi. Oh, don't try this unless your fbo, with bov or dv upgrades.

I was having boosting issues turn out to be bad jb4, before it was found terry advise me to do a 12 ohm mod.

With OEM turbos there is no reason to ever use map 6. Map 3 with a 75 additive targets around 20psi peak tapering to 16psi at redline, more than the stock turbos can efficiently support. Just raise the additive on E85 or race gas plus meth. If you want to disable the auto learning when on race gas you can do that by setting FUB = 100.

Setting FUB to 100 I guessing Map 3 additive will add boost and when set to 100 won't allow it to pull boost?

And if I do this I will be using e85/93oct or race gas

Map 6 isn't needed for stock turbos. 15ohm + Map 3 is fine.

On map 2, 5, & 7 my boost maxed out at 13.3ish even w/12ohm mod. After a few boost leak test and many logs sent to terry he asked me to send it back to him.
He added 2 jumper wires I guess where connections were broke or never were complete.
First log after reinstall I was hitting 16.5 psi prior to meth and with meth boosting 18+ psi on 55 additive/93 oct. tapering down to high 13's psi

I started this trend cause I thought map 6 could be used to hold more boost to my shift point 6200rpm.
But sounds like with additive at 75 and 100+ oct via e85 mix or race gas already maxes out stock turbos and can hold higher boost longer.... Hoping to have 16+ psi at my shift.
