BMS Intake, M3 Spoiler, and Shadow Grills Installed (Pics Inside)

I finally had the chance to wash my car and take some decent pictures of the mods that I did this week. Here are my impressions:

BMS Intake (thanks to Mike@n54tuning )
- Easy install (much easier than the n54 DCI install)
-Took about 20 minutes total including reading the directions
-I recommend having a small screw driver or remove the cowl to make the bracket install easier
-Looks great (I love the blue color vs the ugly purple DCIs)
-Sound isn't as dramatic as some people make it out to be but I think it sounds great!
-I haven't gotten the chance to evaluate the performance differences because there is still ice, snow, and salt on the roads

M3 Spoiler
-Purchased from emotors2000 on ebay
-Looks beautiful IMO and matched my BSM paint
-Easy install and came with double sided tape and alcohol swabs

Matte Black Shadowline Grills
-Purchased from ebay
-Install was much easier than expected (OEM grills popped right out without pressing tabs)
-Look much better than the OEM silver grills
-Some say to get gloss black with black cars but I think matte black looks amazing

All in all I have 0 regrets. I think these mods are tasteful, very subtle, and well worth the money. I would recommend them to anyone.

looks awesome! My grills are on the way. Don't think they'll look quite as good on a white car as they do on your black car though.

I also have the BMS Intake and thought the sounds was a pretty dramatic difference. I love it for the most part but sometimes I do wish it was a little quieter.

I guess compared to the n54 DCI, I expected it to be a bit louder.

Hmmm that's weird because mine is quite a bit louder than one of my friends N54 DCI...I wonder what would cause that

You could be right. Maybe mine just isn't broken in or it could be that I can't drive more than a couple minutes with my windows down since it's in the single digits :

mine sounds exactly like a blow off valve on an N54 with the exception that I can get it to "whistle" longer depending on throttle modulation. I never have my windows down and still here it quite a bit in the car.

Is the "whoosh" blow-off noise more prominent when you let off the gas? Can you hear it over your music with windows up?

Yes it definitely is. Unless I have the music up pretty loud I can hear it even with the windows up. It sounds like a vacuum when I push the gas and the turbo spools and then "whooshes" as soon as I let off.

I noticed that you have the Jb4 also. I wonder if the increased boost could be part of the reason why your turbo spool is louder?

No the JB4 didn't make a difference as far as sound goes. I had the Intake on for a couple of weeks before installing the JB4 and it sounded exactly the same. The only thing I installed along with the intake was a charge pipe. But I don't think that would make a difference as far as sounds goes...

Have you tracked or dynoed your car at all since you modded it? I want to do a similar set up and I'm curious about how it will perform with a tune and downpipe.

Not yet but our local track opens up next week I think. So I'll get some runs in within the next month hopefully. For some reason I have no real desire to dyno the car. Since the JB4 tunes itself on Map 5 there's no real benefit other than satisfying my curiosity but the track will do that for me

It's a night and day difference with the JB4 though. You'll love it. I'm not even running E85 (not sure if I will in the future or not) and the difference is huge.
