dealership damaged my car, says it wasn't them but they're going to fix it anyways?

Took my BMW in for repairs, after waiting 4 days I get a call to pick it up. I pay them the money for the repairs and when I go to pick up my vehicle there's scratches on both sides of my rear bumper ( like the car was squeezed beside two cars) the bumper has scratches and so does the body. I asked them what this was and at first they tried denying it was them; but i told them this is unacceptable and that they need to fix this. I wasn't going to take my bimmer back in this condition.
They pointed at some other minor scratches saying if these were there before how do i know these "new" scratches were not from before.
I told them those scratches are from rock chips, these ones were from the car rubbing against something. After a while of arguing the manager said that even though it wasn't there fault they were going to fix it because i'm their customer. I responded by saying okay what ever just fix it.

are they trying to pull some kind of scheme on me by not accepting liability but still fixing my car?

They're just trying to get the blame off their ass. They don't want that bad rep. Dealership bullshit at its finest..

Plus...why the hell would a dealership fix it for free IF they didn't do it..

Just my 0.02 cents

Why did you pay for the repairs? You posted in another thread that you have warranty untill the 15th. You claim you've been racing your car, did they somehow deny coverage?

Something's definitely up with your story. I always get the "if you don't rate us the highest possible rating then we haven't done our job" etc.

The SA sings:

OP came in and he caught me red-handed
scraping up his driver's door
Picture this, we took his car on a joyride
bottomed out on forty-four

How could I forget that I had
Given him the valet key
All this time he was standing there
his iPhone cam on me

I had to get some repairs done that weren't covered by my warranty. Hence why I had to pay. And there's nothing else to this story

Happened to me too

At a BMW body shop installing spoiler

They never accepted responsibility

At least they fixed it for you

Could have been worse

what's with the escalating number of dealer mess-up threads???

The reason I own my 335 is because my previous dealer totaled my car and did not want to accept responsibility. Like your situation, they still loaned me a brand new car to drive around for 5 months while battling out the legalities. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Although I do understand that accidents do happen. I'm frustrated at the fact that they are acting like it wasn't their fault. And that they are doing me a favour. That's not cool at all.

By tomorrow it's going to be 5 days since they've kept my bimmer to fix the damage. And no phone call from them, yet. Should I call them to ask them about an update on my bimmer? It sucks that they have had my car for so long because I have no other modes of transportation except for transit.

I don't know why "customer service" is such a difficult concept nowadays, who knows, maybe BMW dealership employees aren't paid enough to care about what they're doing. It's been a similar experience for me at 6/7 BMW dealerships when my car was randomly stalling. I decided to take the mentality you can keep my 335i, and I'll keep your loaner (although at 30 days I'll need the contract rewritten for insurance purposes). I went a full 10 days without ever hearing from the dealership. When they did call, I turned the tables on them saying I'll give you a call in the next couple of weeks and let you know when I can pick up my car. The joke was on me when it had nearly 300 miles on it and someone's Ray Bans under the seat, though.
