VRSF Intercooler has Arrived and Installed

JUST FOR THE FEW PEOPLE PM'ING SAYING IF I WORK FOR THE VENDOR OR HOW I GOT IT. I AM NO WAY OFFICIALLY AN EMPLOYEE OR AFFILIATED WITH VRSF, JUST AN ANNOYING CUSTOMER HAHA

I had the opportunity to get the first production unit of the 7" VRSF Intercooler

I had been waiting anxiously from the first time I was told I would be able to snatch one of the first one's they had for myself. So Thank you to Tiago@VRSF. You are awesome

The intercooler arrived, and the box was a little beat up but I was already made aware of that because the first batch he got for review purposes, the air carrier just was not careful with the box's but the general production unit's will be in better condition than this.

I have logged some log's on the COBB yesterday before I got it installed, but hopefully I did it correctly. This was the first time I was logging with my COBB.

Before I go on with the picture's of the intercooler, let me give you some pointer's on the install when you do come around to installing it.
  1. The passenger side coupler, its a pain in the ass to install. I just grinded the one time clamp down
  2. When you trim the shroud, You need to trm about 3 inch's or so for it to fit perfect.
  3. I completely trimmed off fin's from mine and the bottom part of it
  4. Make sure your top clamp's are tight before you put the intercooler in, I forgot to tighten it, had to take the IC out.

Other than that, the intercooler install was a breeze. The support bracket at the bottom, worked perfectly to hold up the extra weight (Sorry forgot to take the picture on this part). Remember when cutting, just to cut less than more and keep test fitting. I cover the top of the IC with some tape so it would not scratch while test fitting. I did not have to take the bumper off, I just had another person pull it while sliding it in.

The box that has all the good's. It gave me a tingling sensation inside when I saw it.

The Fin's are little bent, more user error than production.

My Finger is sexy and it knows it

Car on the lift. Jim looking at the car and saying "Damm this will be a bitch" hah

Stock Compared to VRSF 7" IC, looks sexy!

The fin's were all cut down, I am sure you can just trim the fin's but i wanted the easier way out. There is still more trimming that needs to be done to these pictures, the bottom part needs to be trimmed. Sorry for the bad picture quality. iPhone 4S

The Amazing Clamps

Last but not least, the picture of it installed on the front of the bumper. Looks amazing and makes the car finally look like it has a intercooler. The way it is is meant to be

I will get some log's for you guys soon. Give me a day or two....So dont beat me up yet

The fan retainer tabs are a nice feature. I wish my Helix had that.

Looks like a nice unit. Any closeups of the charge rows?

Based on what I saw in the pictures there is no replacement piping as supplied with ER's kit? Sweet looking intercooler btw with that front bumper!

We're there any parts that you had to buy extra?

For example, I have an ER CP and am hoping that the 7" will fit direct onto this and onto turbo side without any extra parts being needed.

Butt dyno reading would be nice and have you notices temps much lower?

that looks really good. Looks also have been a concern of mine. If I spend money like that for a FMIC I would like it to look like a FMIC not a radiator fan!!! Looks great!!!

Looks great and absolutely love the Tennessee Vols orange. Really brings it all together! Go Vols! (and hurry, damnit!)
I know some of you will mistaken that for Texas colors. That mistake is made quite a bit.
