Flat spot 330i - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Hi guys, hope you can give me some help with my wee problem.

I've an E91 pre LCi 330i with a hesitancy under 1500rpm. When say I let the revs drop in third to just under 1500 then give it some gas I feel a slight miss before it picks up. Sometimes its very noticable and others not but its always there. Ideas guys?

Also, I've noticed that whenever I park the car and jump out I hear the fan winding down yet Ive not been stationary to let any heat build up. Plus living in Scotland there is no heat here anyway! Not checked to see if electric fan or viscous fan yet. Temp guage would be handy...

I would change the title to describe what your problem is as a lot may not read it that could help

Hey Sparkie I have the same engine. Can you include some more detail, I.e auto/manual. Mileage, when did you have or has it had plugs changed? and or coils?

If you have the N53, it could be the coils/injectors/HPFP.

My 55 plate 330i does the same, I am trying to find out what is causing it, I was thinking it was something to do with the auto box but is yours a manual?

HI, its an 2006, manual with full dealer history. Computer says 12k to spark plugs.
I'm new to the E90 - E91 scene and wondered if you can get a fault code reader?
I had one for my M5 and it was pretty accurate so wouldn't mind buying one as my brother has E90 330d.
Oh he has a flat spot around similar rev range, tried remap and a hard drive of the car to blow out the cobwebs but no joy

If you a search for e90 330 hesitation on google you will find a few people suffer from the same problem.
