  2. got a bare 325i coupe
  3. got promoted
  4. traded bare 325i for loaded 325i
  5. got promoted
  6. traded the loaded 325i for a bare 335i
  7. got promoted
  8. traded the bare 335i for a mildly equipped 335i
  9. got promoted
  10. traded the mildly equipped 335i for a loaded 335is (almost pulled the trigger on the M3 but couldn't bring myself to do it)

Next is either going to be a loaded M3 or we're going to start a family. Haven't decided yet

Dang you change cars a lot haha. I plan on keeping my semi-loaded 09 328i for 10+ years.. To me, it's like selling a home.

Got my BSEE, found a job and went to BMW. Salesman thought I was some deadbeat buyer since I drove in with an old car. Worked out a deal and tried to get financing. Got denied by all three banks, including BMW. (first time car buyer) Showed them my paycheck and BMWFS all of the sudden magically approved with one call from the dealer finance manager. Not the best rate, but something I can work with. Denied every single package they tried to throw at me and drove off with a new BMW after 5 hours of hassle. Why am I not surprised they just want my money.

Now getting my MSEE so I can buy another toy.

Only thing I paid for out of my pockets is the mods.. lol..

I feel lucky.
Funny, I worked on the legal side of that bankruptcy case. Not really relevant, but thought you might get a kick out of it!

I owned my own painting business through college. I used that money to buy my first BMW - a 2000 323Ci.

Then I graduated college and got a good paying job for being a recent college grad. Sold my 323 and used that money as well as using my signing bonus as a downpayment on my 335. Still making payments but I dont mind

Saved for a couple months and paid cash for a well cared for one owner Titanium Silver 2006 330xi with 6spd MT and all the packages. $17K after tax and it is just like new except for the 106K miles. Leasing/Financing a car is a rip off no matter how you cut it and you really should only pay cash for a car. On average, new cars lose half their value in 40 months. I personally would puke losing that kind of money over a car. I like to buy cars when they are 6 years old and you're at the bottom of the depreciation curve. You just have to buy the right one in great condition with a full maintenance record which can take some time but it is my experience those are the best deals. And 100K miles on modern cars is not a big deal. Hell, I drove a 1991 Ford Taurus 300K miles and had maybe $2K in repairs from when it was new, none of which were engine related.

Paid off 14 cars within the last few years and my credit would make Chuck Norris blush. If I like a car, I sign the paperwork and drive the f off. Yes, I finance.

I had a 07 Mustang GT that got totaled, not my fault. Used that money to buy a new 2010 Scion TC, 6 months later decided it was too slow and traded it plus $4k for my 07 328i.

Bought all my cars myself from saving my money and living somewhat frugally.

in the year 2000 fell in love with the E46 and had to have one. 3 years later I bought my first; 2000 323i (sedan) at 21 or so. drove it like crazy. see sig. RIP 195,000 still running strong.

and of course the E9x's we sick as hell and had to have one. I promised myself the next BMW I got would be the one I really wanted. the time was right and bought fully loaded CPO E92 07 335i plus 2 yr 100,000 maintenance. I really can't bring myself to buy a brand new one any car for that matter, frankly the new BMW's are over my budget..

oh yeah, didn't go to college but work my ass off. there was no degree for Virtual Design and Construction, so excelled in my own passion, now the VD&C Manager (Sacramento division) for a 2 billion plus General Contractor on the West Coast. very fortunate..

Accounting degree -->Law Degree--> Career in IT (oops on that Law Degree)--> work hard building career for 20 years--> order e91 for Euro Delivery --> spend 3 weeks driving around Europe in new BMW --> one year later (one year ago TOMORROW in fact) still love it to pieces.

As to what I do in IT - Technical Consultant specializing in enterprise storage and backup. Pays quite well in money, airline miles, and hotel points. That trip to Europe cost me almost nothing in actual money.

I went to war a couple of times and lived. I decided that life was too short to put off your dreams until later; some people never get to experience "later". So, I put down a substantial chunk of cash and financed the rest for a low monthly payment. It also helps that the wife and I have no expenses, no debt, and no kids (and never will). Add it all up, and it equals one beautiful Le Mans Blue M-Sport 335i.

I'll risk the flame since you mentioned the "spare no details" part. I'll admit that I'm blessed to have such good parents. My first car was a 2004 G35 coupe which I eventually sold because I wanted a manual. Second car was a 1995 Mitsu. 3000GT 5spd that was involved in a accident so instead of car shopping, my parents gave me my sister's BMW since having a car would help me get around for college that following year. Since then everything that deals with the car has been paid for by me since it's only fair that I pay for my own hobby. In terms of paying for parts and maintenance, I worked a minimum wage job and help co-run my friend's clothing company. I guess I'm a part of the small percentage of college student that has it fairly good

The asshole salesman looked as me and the manager counted the money in astonishment. Didn't even needed the car detailed because it just had came off of the truck, it still had the plastic on the seats. So I got my BMW by working hard, staying focused, shitting on an asshole salesman along the way and 5000 off sticker and free CPO WARRANTY

Mad kudos to you! Being a chef must be one of the hardest working jobs out there- you must have had to work a lot of hours to pay cash.
