Had S5, back to BMW...and very happy

S5 I had was fully loaded, had an incredible roar and looked amazing.
I traded an 08 e92 328 for it. Long story short, there's a DISCONNECT between a driver and the road at the steering wheel.
I rationalized the crap out of it, but sorry for rings...
I'm back to BMW and loving it.

P.S. I had a 2011 TT titanium package DCT and it's not UDM*

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...t-drive-review

Audi S5 (est. by C/D)
0-60 in about 4.7 secs
1/4 mile in about 13.2

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...take-road-test

BMW 335is (short take by C/D)
0-60 4.6 secs
1/4 mile 13.3 @ 108 mph

Hope this helps. The S5 is a lot heavier.

The iS will be better handling on a track, but the Quattro of the S5 will make it much better in weather conditions; it is also a bit more comfortable on the road, and more GT-feeling, so to say. If buying new, I'd personally go with an S5--or, within the same price range, a brand new, M-sport 335i sedan (F30), which is about faster than even the outgoing E92 iS. Both the current S5 and 335i are the outgoing models of their generation, so either wait for the new Audi or get a new 335i M-sport (it offers more horsepower over the standard F30). Unless, that is, if you're wanting the coupes. Test drive both rivals. That will be more than a thousand descriptive posts. Both cars are fantastic in their own regard, and both cars can and will be argued over each other. Here, of course, more people lean to the iS, because after all, this is a BimmerForum. Go to the Audi forum and you'll have vise versa. It's all about preference to which you value most. The iS is a sharp knife in what it does best, but the S5 holds its own respectable ground, thus leading to personal preference of each driver. I personally would be drooling all day over either or.

You may want to laugh about your reading skills, especially when its your own post. You clearly state the F30 335i is faster than the E92 IS. Also, just because a BMW is M-sport does not mean it has the PPK. It doesnt matter tho, because even with the PPK the F30 335i is not faster than the IS because of the 370ft/lb overboost.

I got to tell ya though, Jetta owners got some balls. They will try to run anything.

I simply give respect where its due. For example: If I see a GTR I don't even waste my time cause I don't know if its tuned or not.

2011 e90 335i, without ppk can do 0-60 in 4.7 seconds.
335is can do 0-60 in 4.5
http://www.zeroto60times.com/BMW-Bim...mph-Times.html

335i with ppk....? I don't know. The best I ever got was 4.76, but then, I weigh 245 pounds and have crappy wheels.

Apparently, the best an f30 335i can do is 4.6, according to 0-60 times, which makes me happy, since all the first tests the reviewers were doing that I've read put it between 4.9-5.3.

My girlfriend just bought a new GTI.... they may not be the fastest in their class unmodded, but they still have balls. And that dct is QUICK.
She let me take it out for a spin, and I do mean a spin... punch the throttle on that thing and the front wheels buck and scream against the pavement. They may have a torque vectoring system in place, but you still have to floor it with care.

Also, it comes with launch control. Why does a $24000 hot hatch get that when you don't get that on a BMW below a 335is?

Good point, however that would depend on who the manufacture is trying to target.

VW tragets the young/teenage enthousiasts with those features as a selling point which is wish list on more expensive sport cars

The 335iS 0-60 differs accros the transmission being used. The main stream 0-60 are based on the MT

The DCT 0-60 has is better if the driver knows how to use the LC properly

I will make a reminder to myself to make log of that next time I go to the track or my back yard

Yeah, but you're heavily modded, which will skew the numbers dramatically.

...another advantage of the n54 engine. I wish they could get similar output from the n55.

S5 is sexy car, but there are more tuning options for the 335. It's a tough choice. If it was up to me I would pay a little more and get the S5

2011 Audi S5 Coupe 0-60 mph 4.8

According to 0-60 times, it's a tenth slower than an e90 and 2/10ths slower than an f30.

I think it's also because BMW under-reports power stats for some reason.

4.7 seconds in a rwd 300hp/300tq car that weighs 3650lbs? Yeah, right.

I was referring to the M-sport sedan being faster. It gets a boost like the PPK Stage 1 that you can buy for the current model, and it's lighter than the E90 and E92, placing it within the same range as the IS. Where do you get your no-info?
I believe there is only one "genius" in this thread...

Can you show me please a link where it says that M-Sport F30 gets the PPK1.
I went on the BMWUSA page and looked and cannot believe that you would get the M-sport package + PPK1 for that price. WHy would you even look at the F30 Sport?

Please point me to the source of your info.

Now, to the pricing part...
Audi A4 rivals the 328i. I could have sworn that the BMW is priced higher to start with...
Audi S4 rivals the 335i. Again, The base price S4 = 335i + ZSP + most of ZPP...and again, Audi is "just NOT more expensive"...or in line with the BMW.

I suggest you stay away from embarrassing yourself further

So your judging how fast a car is solely on 0-60 time?
