Well the dealer gave me a F30 320D loan car whilst mine was off the road for the two days. In my opinion the car was smooth quite responsive and powerful. Down side interior trim seemed cheap, Steering was light and had no feel (maybe I'm used to my 18"s car had 17" rims). Worst of all was the engine noise. I can only describe it as being reminisent of my old 3.0lt Turbo Diesel Patrol. I honestly expected better.

I agree I was lent a F30 318d and as much as it had some power and a softer ride compared to my 18" RFT the noise of the engine made it sound like a truck. I thought the inside was really cheap and on reflection I would never upgrade to one.

I too have been given a few 320d as loan car in the past. The 4 cylinders seem to have more of the tractor sound than the 6 cylinders. Despite the sound, I thought the engine was still fantastic and pull very hard at the optimal rev from 2000-4000rpm. It seem to have more punch compare to most petrol engine plus you can't argue with the fact that it does 4.5l/100ks combine.

I agree on the interior. It does feel slightly more plastic compare to older generation
