Omaha, NE Recommended shop lists

I thought I would start a thread where anyone from my neck of the woods can post their experience with the local shops. I am looking for recommendations on Body shops for painting and install of aero kits.

The dealership here in Omaha is very nice and friendly but their work seems expensive. I haven't negotiated or anything but the quoted me roughly $3000 for the M-Kit painted and installed.

If I could find a shop to do the painting I could do installs myself and save some money.

I also wouldn't mind getting together with some other BMW fans around the area.

My 335i (also black sapphire) is on the way across the Atlantic. It should be in NE by late August. I won't be doing any body mods, though, so I can't help with any local shop info.

I'm curious though--did you get your windows tinted? At Markel? They told me it'd run a couple hundred bucks, which seems pretty reasonable.

I'll be on the lookout for your 328!

I had some work done a couple of years ago by Imperial Auto Body located at 137th & C. They did an excellent job replacing a front fender and matched the paint pefectly on my last car (Acura CLS.)

I would highly recommend them.

Boy, you don't see many 335i coupes in Omaha!!

Hey Turbo - I wish I could convince you to get the 335i! With a Procede it is a real beast.

By the way, where is the best/highest octane gas in Omaha? I have always used 92 octane from BP Amoco. I know there is a station on 42 & Grover that sells race gas, but I have not tried it yet.

yeah ive heard stock they are quite strong. in a car and driver i saw a stock one ran a 13.8 at 102mph. My gsr on 7psi ran a 14.1 @104mph and on 8psi ran a 14.2 @ 106mph. The trap speeds are pretty decent but with a 2.5 sixty foot on street tires my et is kind of horrible. On 7 psi i dynoed 240whp on a dynojet 248j and on 8psi i dynoed 252whp.

in omaha i know there is a place that sells sunoco race fuels. they offer gt100 100 octane unleaded, turbo 110 leaded and turbo 112 leaded. I have used all of them and they seem like quality fuels. On my friends ek we used vp c16. here is a link to his car on dynosports webpage.

Thanks for the high octane gas info - I may have to give it a try, but I think I will wait until the weather cools down a litttle! The heat does a number on the turbo's.

ps I worked with Greg Friesen at Markel and he did a good job for me.

Hey Local Nebr.'s.

I just got the last 2007 335i from Husker Auto. Should be here 8-20.

Anyone want to buy an evo?

thanks for the heads up on the race gas. Last I heard from the place off 42 and before center, was that they wont be selling any unleaded 105+ because of some new regalations?

I just loved dumping some race gas in and turning it upto 24psi.......LOLOL.

Hey good to see there's are some bmw fans out here in omaha. Dont see too many e90,92, or 93s out here. Think i seen only one 92 and one 93. They are beautiful. I moved here last year, so the only choice i had was the sedan. Even so, I'm still loving it.

Wow finally some action on this thread. Im glad I checked it.

Sounds like we have a few BMW enthusiasts in omaha.

As of right now I have done all my mods myself but I havent done the body kit yet. I think I will hold off. However, I am thinking of doing a speaker/sub/amp install in september.

Anyway, keep a look out for my black 328xi. Usually out west on maple between 120th and 180th.

I saw a white 3 series e90 on 120th the other day with a spoiler, anybody on here?

Wasn't me - I have a sparkling graphite 335i coupe. I usually stay away from Maple Street though - too many police!!

West Dodge Street on the other hand has been pretty cool, but I think they are starting to crack down a little.

Yeah, don't speed on the Dodge expressway at night or on the weekend. Feel free to blaze away on your commutes. I've been driving to and from work daily for the last three years and have never seen a stationary cop.

Saw a brand new Jet Black 335xi e90 at 7 Monkey's Restaurant tonight (~156th & Maple)

It still had the price tag in the window: 47k! But it didnt even have the sports package!

Anyone know someone that just took delivery?

I just don't know if I could justify 10k more for 70 more HP and fuel pump problems. Nevermind, yes I could...

Hmmm, the 335xi must be popular here. I saw one at the Tiburon golf course parking lot on Sunday (I think it was space gray.)
