Auto Logic Programming Shops List

Here is a place we can list all the shops that have a BMW Autologic tool.

To find a shop near you, you need to call Autoligic US at 877 945 6442. Ask them for the shops that have an autoligic tool nearest to your location. When you do this, do not mention your intentions to have the radio recoded. Instead, if they ask, tell them that you are trying to et in touch with a shop so that you can go and observe how everything works. They can also tell you how long that shop has had a tool, how old their tool is, and what makes of cars their tool is for. Special thanks to VP Electricity for providing me with this information.

Anyone know a place in Toronto? Also could Auto Logic be used to disable DRL?

Sorry I don't recall the name of their Autologic guy, but he's pretty good. He promises he can code anything that can be coded; last summer he worked with Autologic to enable the trailer options (lighting control, bulb-out detection, DTC mode) in my 335i.

It would also he helpful to state if the shop is equipped with a optical multiplexer (referred to as ALOPS) in order to enable CIP coding for MOST control devices.

All mObridge iPod & Bluetooth development/coding was developed in-house.

I think that shop may have been a bust at the time but its worth another shot. Autologic has made this an easier task now.

they were able to get to the point of finalization, but it did not work... at least not on my car. very well could be an issue on my car itself. Ask for Justin, he knows what to do - just a question of it working. Could be a problem with their programmer too. Keep us updated.

I spoke with a shop in Westchester County, New York, and the tech seemed willing to try the recode at but said he wanted to check with a contact of his first.

He called me back saying that his contact works for a dealership and that the dealers are getting a 90% failure rate trying to code 2010 radios (he said they often have to code the radios before delivery to make sure they are fully updated). He said when the coding fails, the radio sometime gets bricked (stops working completely) and that he wants to wait until BMW offers a tech bulletin before we try it.

The guy may be full of it (or his contact may be as well) but I thought I would pass this info along and also to see if anyone has had any such experiences when getting a recode.

BMW dealers cannot code the radios. They do not have autologic tools. Unless they have upgraded their equipment, they do not posses the tools to recode a head unit from l7 to HIFI.

Tell your shop to call auto logic UK as they will be able to give step by step directions. Have them ask for Andrew ( jelly on the forum.)

This is 100% true.

The radios (non-iDrive) are the most unstable control module during the updating process, dealers have bricked this all the time during updates. We do not perform any programming on radios unless absolutely necessary.

Just to clarify... Dealers do not code, they program (all or nothing). Autologic shops can code and program. Coding changes variables/parameters in the firmware of the device; programming changes the firmware of the device.

So you can clearly see which software change is more "delicate" to perform and most probably can cause the "brick" of a device.

Don't waste your time at the dealer for coding unless you find some real helpful tech that knows more than what ISTA/P is showing in the screen.
