This is awesome . Makes things a ton easier to reset adaptations. I haven't taken this out to my car yet but can you select only transmission adaptations to reset or does it just whack them all out?

This only supports the DME module at this time, so it won't reset transmission adaptations. I may support more modules in the future. The free version currently just resets all DME adaptations at once.

There's an update today that includes descriptions for the major DME codes, MSS70, MSV70, MSV80 full support, and MSS60 (M3) / MSS65 (M5/6) full support. Simply launch the app and it will auto-update. Enjoy!

In what state does the ignition need to be on in order for the software to read the DME? I've tried with the electronics only on (hold the start button) and with the engine on and it won't read the DME. Saying something about not able to communicate to the DME, verify the power state. I'm using a very similar cable to the silver one on Amazon.

I've been developing software for BMWs for a while now and I'm finally making some fun applications available to you guys, the enthusiasts. In doing so I've made some FREE options available to everyone, covering a very wide range of BMW vehicles.

These currently include:
Check Prominent and Shadow DME Codes, error code number is displayed. Still translating the descriptions from German to English for the newer vehicles, so full descriptions will be added in soon.
Clear DME Codes.
Clear All DME Adaptations.
Register A New Battery With IBS, as easy as choosing Register New Battery in the special menu.

No INPA/EDIABAS/DIS required, it's a standalone application. This works on Windows XP and newer or Mac OS X 10.5 and newer. All you need is a supported FTDI based USB K-Line or K+DCAN cable, depending on your model year, and you're good to go. Check out the tutorial video to see how to setup the software to use your cable. Enjoy!

Here's a link to the version that supports E90/1/2/3

If you have questions about the free features I'd be happy to respond here... If you have other questions please use email as this is not a commercial post.

And you selected your cable in preferences, went to the Error Window, and hit Retrieve Codes or Clear Adaptations? There is no "Verify Power State" error so you'll need to be more clear.

You can check with the car running or after hitting the start button so the electronics are on but the engine is off.

The K+DCAN cable is clear, not silver. It should say K+DCAN on it.

Just curious... are you planning to add other coding options to your software?
(eg. turn off iDrive start-up message, door unlock auto when car turn off etc).

thanks!

If I do it will be a separate application. This one is for logging.

Very nice. Will the installation package leave the FTDI drivers alone if they are already installed? I already have a K+DCAN cable and drivers installed for multiple applications including Evoscan and a homebuilt ISO 9141 cable.

Does it delete all adaptions at once?
Is it wise to delete all of these at once?

If you have old drivers it will update them, otherwise it will leave them alone. Either way it's the FTDI standard driver package so it won't effect the way anything else operates.

Registered users will be able to choose. If you retune the car it's wise to reset all of them.
