Sup fellas

Sup guys? Bought a 335i xDrive last week and ive got the mod bug. Seems like there is no clear spots in Chicago to do some simple things to my ride.

Does anyone recommend a place in the city to get some anti heat tints like formulaone or llumar? My car has a formulaone sticker by the side of the door but the windows aren't tinted and since parking at work has no shade I'm looking for a shop to get 75% tints or whatever % keeps the cops off my back.

Also I'm thinking of upgrading my sound system. Does anyone have any recommendations for an audio place that won't mess up my cars interior with holes and whatnot?

I'm looking at a Cobb AP also, thoughts?

I 2nd the Cobb, just got mine 2 weeks ago and love it!

Audio I think depends on your factory system as far as what works best but also depends on your budget.

Checked out Umbra's website going to get a quote from them.

I don't even know what sound system my car has. I'm pretty sure its not harman kardon else they would have advertised that when I was buying the car. Think they are normal factory audio system, which could use an amp and subs. Yelp says www.showtimeaudio.net has all 5 star reviews. I don't want to vibrate the neighborhood id just like a bit more bass.

Talked to a vendor about a Cobb AP and they said $800 for my car/model. Not bad i guess since ebay has them listed for $895.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

You can always buy a used one if you wanted to save a few bucks. If you find a used Cobb AP for sale 600-700 range pick it up they don't last long for sale.

Umbra is usually pretty busy (for good reason), and you have to book 3-4 weeks in advance.

Umbra yes, Cobb yes, showtime audio no

The electrical system is insane in these cars, there's really only one shop you should take it to around here, its in Elk Grove but I forget the name, supercharger mark should know

Nothing like a good highway run with a GTO in the morning to wake you up!

Just leave it at the Cobb AP allowed me not to hit the speed limiter

Anyone know of a good place to have wheels/tires mounted and balanced that WON'T fuck them up in the process? Shop I was going to go to got rid of their touchless tire installer.

Preferably in the west to southwest suburbs.

That Cobbs for a N54 and I have an N55. I've noticed though that I'm only getting 17MPG with 20%city 80%highway. The morning traffic on 90/94 is brutal.

Game i've been going to Arandas Tires & Rims in Wicker Park for years. You can watch while they mount/fix etc your wheel. Just tell them you are gonna leave a fat tip and they will take care of you
