Went with the Avant Garde M550's..finally got them in yesterday and had them installed..very very happy with my decision and much more pleased than I thought..forgive the IG pictures (dont want the post to be "worthless without pics")..trying to schedule a shoot in the near future..thanks to Leo at Need 4 Speed Motorsports (sponsored vendor) for all the help and great price in purchasing this set!

Ive got a question...

Just completed my vrsf downpipe install! I have a whine almost like a siren everytime I acclerate wether its full throtle or just a creep. Not at all familiar with turbos besides this car which ive had 2 months. Its not just the woosh that i had before. The car shakes a heck of alot more than before, at least it feels like it does.
Going to adjust the jb4 controls tomorow to view the turbo spool on the dash see if the whine goes hand in hand with it.

All in all it sounds great with my eisenmann axle back, just curious if I need to do some adjusting somewhere.

Ive gotta meet up with you guys one of these Saturday nights if I ever get off work.

The siren noise is most likely due to you removing the cats and going catless DP's. Cats usually quiet down a lot of the turbo spool up noise, and not they are not there. You are hearing more of the turbo spool up. A lot of people have said, as the car warms up the sound goes away.

The whistling is the turbos spooling. If your feeling vibrations though your pipes are either touching the frame or the engine block. You are going to have to go back and adjust them. Once installed correctly the car should still drive like OEM.

+1....with dps you'll definitely hear the turbos more...whistling noise should be more prominent.

however...if you're hearing a 'siren' type noise.....that is not normal and possible your turbos are heading south. does your car smoke at all?

Thanka for the replies guys! Car only has 24k on it so hopefully the turbos are not failing. I do feel I need to go back and re-adjust them. I also had a service engine soon light kick on yesterday, although the car still drives great! Have not yet had time to check the codes through my jb4 software and reset them. I know the jb4 has the dp fix but what I had found in the past for the instruction on maps, functions and such for it I can't seem to relocate. Crazy these things don't come with a manual or even a link to one.

Hey all,

My wife was on 264 EB this morning when a shovel flew out of a pickup and started tumbling down the road. She was unable to avoid it and ran over it. The bumper is pretty messed up and who knows underneath. Is there a good collision shop around. I know checkered flag and casey both have collision centers but are they BMW approved (does that even exist)? Thanks for the help!

When it comes to turbos, milage does not matter at all from my experience. I've had a turbo fail with less than 100miles on it. I had a turbo which was brand new and had a internal crack in it (it was a garrett turbo). You can find all your questions and answer for the JB4 on this forum....
