People with lowered suspension, any warranty issues?

Hello! I have a 2011 335i M-Sport xDrive Coupe and it is under factory warranty until 07/15 and CPO until 07/17.

I purchased a set of Eibach Springs and Bilstein Shocks from a member and will be installing them shortly. However, due to the amount of warranty I have left I wanted to see if anyone has had any issues with a BMW dealership relating to a lowered xDrive?

I am mostly concerned about items such as; differential, transmission, joints, control arms, etc. Is there any cause for concern or does BMW really not care too much about the xDrives being lowered?

Not sure but mjy SA have not said anything thus far and I am now on my third set of non-OEM springs. HOWEVER, the dealership have noted in my services records that the car is not on OEM springs.

Thanks! I was at the dealership yesterday and they said the standard, "Warranty is still valid and everything is covered unless the non OEM parts [Springs/Struts] directly caused the failure or damage."

So I think I am good.

Thanks!

Before I did mine I talked to a bmw tech in the local area, he says it all depends on the service writer and how their day is going. They have done warranty work on M3s with mods and clearly have been just beaten and they have declined a 335 with an intake.

By my understanding if you have problems with your drive axles and your car is slammed, they probably wont cover that. But if you spin a bearing I dont see where that is really caused by suspension mod.

its the risk you take.

Agreed! I am just doing Eibach Springs & Bilstein Shocks, so nothing too low (about 1-1.5in).

It seemed as if my local dealership and SA wouldn't raise too many concerns, unless it was something directly related to it.

I think I should be good - at least I hope. I just can't stand the rake, especially coming from a RWD.

Thanks!

Obviously if you have a suspension warranty claim you're screwed but until then you're good. I bought an extended warranty and they didn't cover my suspension but no surprise.
