I added one 12 inch sub to the stock system in my 2009 328 (not Logic or Harmon K) , with a aftermarket amp. IT MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE. Fuk the tweeters, start with just that. you will have to EQ everyting diff. to compensate. Best bang for buck.

I just recently added 2 Alpine Type-R 12D4 Subs and an Alpine MRX-M100 Amp to my 2007 E92 328 with HiFi (10 Speakers), I didn't change my stock stereo and sounds great but I plan on upgrading my speakers to the BSW Stage 1.
So yes it's possible.

I tried out BSW's upgrade and I was really surprised about how awesome it sounded. Heres my write up/ install. Look at how much bigger the magnets and how well the BSW are made. WHen you cranked these the bass was deeper and the highs were more pure. The upgrade was definitely worth it. If u want more info PM me

You can add an amp. You'll NEED to add an amp to power the sub. If your car is brand new.....the speakers sound like total shit for a while. The woofers need to "break in". After a couple months they sound much better. Or, if you can, put on music with a lot of bass and play loud for a few hours. You can do this in the driveway and go in the house. Just remember not to kil your battery. I thought I was imagining this till i got a loaner car with 5000 mi on it and the speakers sounded way different then mine. So... 1. Let the Speakers break in 2. Get amp and sub. (:
To answer OP...Yes you can add speakers, amps, subs, tweeters on stock radio. |
