89 Dollar Hitch! 335i Updated with Pics! Hurry only a few left! e92/e93
Hey everyone just to let you know Amazon has the stealth hitch in stock right now. I just installed one and it is perfect. Comes with everything you need but the ball. I can answer questions about install is you have any too. Best part its only 89 bucks plus shipping!!!! Cheaper that a roof rack!!
Plus the hitch is out of sight when the adapter is removed. Can only see it looking up under the bumper! http://www.amazon.com/Valley-81821-C...rds=VALLEY+335 Last edited by e92oholic; 08-08-2012 at 04:33 PM.. |

OK, Interested for sure. Can you describe the installation process? Is it a direct BOLT on? I only want it for a bike rack holder...

Jack up back of car, I used 2 floor jacks from both sides and jack stands under the back. Remove rear bumper and rear bumper shock absorber things. (need to put bolts through frame. remove the 6 exhaust hangers under the rear of car. remove rear heat shields line up and clamp on hitch, drill holes into frame, paint around holes inside and out of the frame. drop bolt and supports inside the frame from where you removed the bumper supports with long needle nose pliers. put on nut and torque down do not cut heat shields they bend around the bolts. reassemble. I have pictures i took during at home i could upload them later.. its not a DIY at all but they help see how it sits under the car etc. |

In my eyes (European and a family that tows a lot!) this hitch looks like s***t
Where's the electro-plug for brakelights and turnsignal? You guys don't seriously tow without lights? The hook itself looks good material but i wouldn't tow anything with that mounting... Sorry guys but maybe we (Europe) have a bit higher standarts as this...

That's a Bosal AK6. Don't know if you can get one over there... It's what we call, a quality product!

To much damn work just to put a bike rack on the back. I would just buy a roof mount bike rack before tearing the back of my 335i apart...

The real tow-boss is a 335D Touring rated at 4000lbs, which is 500lbs MORE than a Toyota Tacoma w. V6 & Tow Package BTW.

Roof racks are generally more expensive, increase wind noise, reduce fuel mileage and increase risk for damaging the roof of you car. Hitch rack is the way to go.

US trailer wiring is VERY different from that used in Europe - typically only four wires in a flat connector. They are rarely integrated into the hitch until you get up to the big hitches used on trucks. The wire for the lights is just stuffed into the trunk until you need it, then you run it out over the trunk seal. Not exactly elegant, but it works.
