How is this supposed to fit in our (e92) trunk again? It must need modification, no? *scratching head*

We don't know, but....we've already sold/shipped about 10 of these to various 3'er owners. Hopefully someone out there that has one will chime in. Evan and I just figured we'd throw it up on special for those interested. We honestly don't know if/how it can be "fitted" into the trunk of E9X's.

fit in what sense? does it clear the brakes?

see my thread over at bimmerfest for the full details, but unless there's a massive production variance, it should fit fine.
the brakes, which are the sticking point, are the same on the E90 335i as the E92.

all the others, 328, 325, 330, use smaller brakes, so there shouldnt be an issue.
i can only say based on my E90, but i used my temp spare all of last weekend, 300 miles or so, without issues.

I bought this combo from another online dealer. It weighs 28 lbs with tools. It is about 5" thick and I can fit my carry-on bag in the trunk on top of the wheel. I test fit the wheel on the front only and there is 1-2mm clearance from the brake caliper. It probably fits the rear, but I would move a front wheel back if I had a rear flat.

As stated above, this is an E60/E61 5 series accessory - but some E9X folks have decided to get it for their cars and just set it in the trunk, etc. It's up to you to come up w/ your own creative usage if you're interested.
