Morning all. How can I tell if these speakers (link below) are genuine hk speakers? - the label on the rear of the speakers have been peeled of by his son apparently.

They are standard speakers by the look of it.

That's what I was thinking. But he keeps saying there genuine hk speakers.

Would there be any other mark/ logo on them if they were genuine hk apart from the label that's been peeled off?

They do look like standard, although I haven't held a Hk speaker in my hand.

I put in the alpine upgrade on my previous 3series, they had bigger magnets than that picture and a silver cone. So I would imagine the Hk to be slightly easier to differentiate from a standard.

Here's a shot of my standard speakers - I'd say his have bigger magnets and cones, so it may well be legit...

^^^ if you take photo of yours from the top, they are same size.
Early Pre-LCI had white stickers on them and these looks like one of those.

Why would his son take all the stickers off?

Look like Boggo standard paper cone jobbies to me. HK are basically 'Top Hi Fi' Logic 7.

Just emailed him and got this reply:

"The colour of the label was white mate. These are genuine
these have come out of my brother 10plate car which bmw only put HK
speakers in it"

2 possibilities.
1- This guy thinks all BMWs come with HK and selling this under that impression. If that was the case, he should have left the labels at the back.

2- This guy knows which mids are these and hence his little one peeled off label. Hmmm lets think, not only one, but both mids. Seems con artist.

How old was his son ?

If his son was 3-4 yrs old then the rest of the speaker would be damaged too

If his son was 15 years old then he would know that HK was a decent make .. not as if you would be trying to pass them off as something better !

Didn't know they made HK speakers for E9x

defo fake been looking for upgraded speakers for mine, and have not come across HK speakers for the newer BM's its all either Basic paper cone stuff, or hifi or topend logic 7.

these look like the basic paper ones.
