oops . yep... i got my E's mixed up!! Was an E30 - correct!

Though re E46 ... mate had one new when i had my ITR and on a decent 'quick' run to polegate got out the other end and said 'that thing has no right to keep up with this!!!' Think he was a bit gutted, but the ITR on corners is truly something special.

Maybe he was a rubbish driver, An M3's limit is quite high. I don't really think a Teggy would keep up at Silverstone, Brands and the like.

The straight line performance is pretty massive too. 0-100mph in 11.2 secs for the M3 & 18 secs for the Teggy.

Different cars for different markets eh!!

lol... even the honda NSX has trouble keeping up with an E46 M3 (that said the NSX really isnt that fast), an integra wouldn't stand a chance in hell

The cornering abilities of the dc5 and dc2 are very good...it will take down GTIs and R32s easily...

I'm a big fan of the dc5...

Having had a gen7 celica vvtli
I agree the high revs and low torque on every day use grows tiresome, but it had one of the best driving position, gearbox and feel as driving in the car as part of it, so this must be great.

The other side high revs, light make if fun.

I had a DC2 Teg before, by far the most fun car I've ever driven (my 335 feels like a limo in comparison). It's not all that fast, but sounded like a touring car at 9krpm, gorgeous ride on 15inch wheels, no sound proofing, the only gadget was electic front windows....took it to the isle of man once, still the best driving memory I have

Interestingly the reason I sold it was the same reasons for why I loved it ( 80mph=6krpm, no sound proofing, no air con, no radio didn't make it good for M ways)...but as soon as I get a house with a double garage I'll be buying one as a weekend toy

Saw the TV advert for this car at the weekend. It travels sideways in nearly every shot.

Well, I've completely changed my mind in this, popped in today whilst I was out with the kids for a quick gander. Really was turned off it from the evidence in this thread but completely changed my mind now.

It looks great (when jazzed up a bit like this one), was surprised how small it was, and I thought the interior was nowhere near as bad as it I first thought - I actually quite liked its simplicity and funky switches.

My only grip would be the power, if I was to consider swapping the Zed for one, I think I'd really be wanting more power. Might feel different from behind the wheel but on paper it just really doesn't impress.

Going to nip back on Monday (passing anyway to see clients) and speak more about money - let's see how desperate they are to make a sale .

Oh, my Daughter was looking very pissed off as I'd refuse to put her 11 month old Brother onto her knee for the photo - lol.

How come??

It would tick a few boxes for me - 2 emergency back seats - better mpg - lower road tax - 5 yrs warranty - etc. I'm not really treating it as a viable contender for me but I was very pleasantly surprised by it today. Might just have a chat with them to see how figures may stack up (discount, apr, trade-in, depreciation, etc) - if figures look good I may become tempted - obviously need to drive it first (if it feels really underpowered then it's simply a no-go).

Can look a little bland from certain angles (Toyota DNA!!) but others it looks great with nice little touches. This white one, with stripe decals, black/red interior, looked the bollocks.

Don't get me wrong I love the idea of it.

but

on my 93mile motorway commute I would get very tired of the lack of torque. I also suspect getting anywhere near the mpg figures quoted will be difficult, but it'll still be better than the z. That would niggle away at me until I swapped it.

Worth pushing for an extended test drive so you can get a feel for how you would live with it.

Just my 2p.

Isn't the waiting list already rather long?

I think they look alright and the idea is good. 0-60mph in 7.7secs is too slow though. That is only warm hatch territory these days.

All valid points (I tired of the S2000 due to always having to wring its neck).

Oddly the auto has better Co2 readings than the manual but is a chunk slower (over the already pretty slow manual).

Forgot to ask them about waiting times - the white one pictured is available immediately though - there were four more that I could see knocking around the dealership.

My bad

Did a search and topgear's pre-release review came up first.

http://www.topgear.com/uk/toyota/gt-86/road-test/driven

In fairness a 120d does 0-60mph slightly quicker and on the road will leave the Toyota. Not as fun - but this would grate on me.....big time.
