Nikon, Lightroom and a BMW... and LOTS OF FREE TIME.

My fiancée bought me a Nikon D5200 for Xmas, I convinced her that I needed it for my car. Then I downloaded Adobe Lightroom 6 to edit all my photos. I finally got my wheels and suspension squared away after almost a year of hiccups. Last Sunday I washed the car and polished the new wheels, then enjoyed the beautiful weather. I did 3 photo sessions in one day. One at noon, one as the sun was setting and the last one at night. I've been slowly editing them every day, learning and adjusting my style as I go.
Anywho... on to the pics.

Noon shoot:

Evening shoot:

I actually did a little bit of trespassing to get these shots. Lol. The top of the garage was chained off but I removed the chain to get to the top floor. Photos were rushed because I didn't know if anyone saw me come up or not. Wasn't trying to get arrested.

Night Shoot:

This was my favorite shoot. Definitely a learning experience... It's amazing how drastically the lighting can change from one pic to another. I also played around with the editing process a little more. Trial and error, trying to find my style.

Very nice! The background in the noon pics is so perfect that it looks fake! A minor comment is that I find the parking lot lines in most of the pics kind of distracting. I would edit them out or try to take pics in an area without lines. But I'm just picky! Enjoy your camera!

I have Adobe photoshop... maybe I'll try playing around with that now. Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

It's a Hamman rep diffuser. Got it from a forum member that didn't want to hack up his rear bumper to install it a couple years ago. I have my M Tech rear and Quad diffuser waiting to go on.

It's so hard to get good night shots of the angel eyes. Even with editing, the exposure can be overwhelming. I'll have to try your technique. Thanks for the insight.

Thanks for the compliment sir. I wanted something that was different but i doubt I'll keep them green forever. I actually have a body color change coming in a couple months. Not a fan of TiAG personally, but I do like the contrast the car has right now.

SSR GT3s. 18" face step lipped to 19s. The only set in the country that are step lipped. They were made by a forum member here, Mark Perrault. Check out his Instagram for his other wheel creations. @thee_deported

Yes, these were all with the stock lens, 18-55mm. I want to maximize my technique with this before I move onto a higher quality lens.

Squat down and take pics from lower angles. Keep wheels straight, watch out for distracting objects, and observe rule of 3rd's. Have fun!

Wooooooow... you just changed my whole outlook man. I never even knew about something so basic as this. But it completely changes the pictures. I've noticed that my favorite pics that I've taken fall into this rule of thirds category. I'll definitely be using this more in my coming shoots with everything.

Took these last week when I hungout with my homey for lunch. Had Pho for the 1st time and it was great. I had a G35 before this car. His is an 07 with lots of goodies including custom paint job, aftermarket body panels, retrofitted headlights, 20x10.5 Vossens all around on BCs and a custom exhaust to name a few of his many mods.

I caught a candid moment of him teaching his 4 year old step son how to cleanup wheels before a shoot.

That's next. Probably update next year or around the holiday season.
Wheels are 19x10 fronts, 19x11.5 rears. Camber is at -3 all around, slight fender work in the rears.

I wish I had kept the wheel straight for these pics the more I look at them. I just know now to do straight and turned wheel shots in the future. Thanks for the compliment.

It's a fun process. Just trying to learn the subtle camera focus tricks now.
