Carfax shows CPO, Not on Dealer's Description

If a car shows CPO on Carfax but the dealer's description does not say it is CPO, does the car still have CPO?

How hard would it be to give the dealer a call and check it?
I think it would be easier than posting the message here and waiting for our guesses...

I know but... I was assuming the dealer would raise the price if they find out.

I was told that the dealer has to do the inspection and a bunch of paperwork for the certification.

When I was car shopping for the car I ended up buying, it said it was cpo on the carfax but the dealer didn't tell me it was. I ended up calling another local dealer and spoke to there service rep and said I bought a car and wanted to find out if it was a cpo, they asked for the last 7 of the vin and it turned out it had 5 months left on the warranty. It takes 5 mins from when you pick up the phone bro.

If your buying from a BMW dealer they already know if its CPO or not. They arent going to miss that. If your buying from some randdom used car lot they might not know if they dont do their research like calling the dealer...Just call..thread over

Thanks for your responses, I called another BMW dealership and they said the car is CPO. They said the only thing that could prevent the CPO from being in effect is if there is some undergoing change/accident.

Maybe I misunderstood the point of this forum... I thought it was to give expertise to other BMW enthusiasts.

This actually happened to my car when I bought it last year. I purchased the car under the impression that it was CPO. The tires were new and the vehicle seemed to be in good condition so I didn't question it. To answer your question though, the CPO warranty stays with the car (at least in my case). Depending on when it was certified and the current condition, it should certainly save you some cash. For the dealer to re-certify it would cost upwards of $1500 depending on the model.

^Thanks for that.

Someone bought the car while I was questioning its CPO status...

It was for $22,000 with 37,000 miles and it had Xenons and Sport, Cold Weather, and Premium Packages.

Looks like I'm buying a G37 coupe now... that was the best 328 deal I found.
