Radar Detector and Warranty - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

I just rec'd my new Valentine 1 detector and wanted to hardwire it into my E90 via a recommended local audio component installer. Anyway, my question is this....am I voiding my warranty on the electrical system by doing so? I'd hate to have a problem down the road with NAV/Idrive or any other electrical problem, only to find out it's not covered because I hardwired my detector?

Any feedback from those with experience would be greatly appreciated. Btw, the new E90 is unbelievable!!!!

I've never heard of anyone voiding their warranty because of a V1 hardwire install, but maybe other members have?

There used to be a sticker on the windshield, top left corner, stating not to use a radar detector nor a mobile phone in the car as it could cause electrical problems. I don't know if this is still the case.
