Before and After Intercooler Results - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

I was going to write up a review and throw up logs comparing a bunch of diff intercoolers vs. OEM, but it's quite obvious that the thread would end up as a big flame war between all the groupies we have on here so there's no point.

So I'm just going to throw up 2 simple logs showing OEM INTERCOOLER vs. AFTERMARKET INTERCOOLER to illustrate the benfits.

The results will speak for themselves.

My Vbox showed immediate gains from the Intercooler whereas after swapping back and forth between OEM and aftermarket downpipes I couldn't even see any gains at all on the times I pulled on the vbox.

Removed all extra info from logs for sake of simplicity and not to confuse those unfamiliar with the style.

Same car, same temps, same road etc...
Look at the IAT's and I'll let you guess which is before and which is after.

Nice! I've been debating installing an FMIC since I have an AccessPort. Most of the threads I have seen indicate very positive and quantifiable results.

Which intercooler is that? Is the blue line boost? What's pre boost?

Let's just say it's an aftermarket intercooler, just to avoid any disputes. Most of the popular aftermarket intercoolers should have pretty similar results anyway.

Pre-Boost is the actual Boost
Light blue line is the Temps

Consistent , nice that's the most important
Wish you would have have pulled the first log longer to see how high the iat got

I see, those are great results. Is boost typically that wavy on the jb4? That second datalog has that spike?

PM me the name of that intercooler if you don't mind.
