I have ran 2 before and have kept dead even with one with mixed e85 and jb4, downpipes, intake and exhaust. The other one without e85 I was on his rear bumper.

Well, Jeff did explicitly state that "...depending on trim can trap about 120 MPH." I just dug up the first article I found on Google.

Here are some "more attainable" numbers from another magazine.

I watched one of these runs, was pretty damn even.

PS: they both blew past me at wot and shockingly, the exhaust note sound near identical. I thought that was odd.

Here is an older 06 convertible doing mid 117's. http://www.dragtimes.com/Ferrari-F43...slip-8379.html

I know my stock z06 is faster then a f430 but I still might take the f430 cause the car has that much more class and exotic feel.
Not to thread jack, but how do you like the vette so far? C6 Z06 is what Ill hopefully get as a weekend car later on in life.

It's great! I dont know what else to say. It hooks up and goes. It's got all the power braking and handling you need. I still get 20 MPG Average. Only down side is no back seats but I hardly ever used them in other cars to begin with. Maybe literally a couple times out of the year I wish I had the back seats. I got other vehicles for those occasions though.

Down the road I may look into a GTR for a touch more practicality.

Have you driving one of shiv's single turbos? I would take that over a GTR every day of the week.

I have not. But I've owned a 335i already, I like to try new cars and platforms every couple years. I have no biases towards any brand specifically. Any car can be fun with the right amount of money it, some just do a better job out of the box. Some a little more then others of course.

I feel any 335i single turbo car has an Achilles heal:

The car needs certain upgrades to be a good performer on the street. There is not enough grip on street tires for the single turbo cars. This car would really benefit with an LSD and custom wide body to fit wider tires for starters. I would also look into a big brake kit and naturally an upgraded clutch. Not to mention suspension work. After that the car have been completely over-hauled into something entirely different from where it started.

Yesterday I rode in their latest top hp single turbo car and the thing is crazy fast! The next shift sector event is going to be a lot of fun.

Can't wait to show my stuff at Buttonwillow on the 30th. Hope there are a couple supercars out there.

As for straight line, who the F cares.
Obviously the ferrari wasnt really pushing it because with all due respect your car is not out tracking a ferrari lol.

Sounds like a typical DE day. Driver in an E36 M3 with suspension work and tires runs circles around a nub in an F430, and the F430 driver wonders why. That said, you put proper rubber, suspension and brakes on his car (with the power he made that day) vs. a stock F430, I'd put money on his car, every time, even with a good driver in the Ferrari. Slicks>any street tires.

The 335i does need a bit of modificaiton to put the power down properly. That said, outside moments when the gtr was pushing .75+ g either accelerating, breaking or turning, I couldnt stand being in the car. If I had to pick, would happily go with the single 335i, and I get a manual

Thanks. I actually had Falken 615k's and he had Pilot SS, so he had tire advantage. The driver in the F430 had good lines and what not but I just had him beat in every category, including driver mod! hehe.

Let me ask, have you driven the GTR in traffic? Did it buck a lot at slow speeds?

I've got the vette to .85G controlled around off ramps. I dont dare push it any harder though. I feel like im about to get sucked out of the car LOL

Lol this forum has turned into a mustang forum, a bunch of fanboy's with modified 335i's thinking the only important thing in a car is a single characteristic.

A science project 335i could destroy me driving a 458, I would still never question the cost of the 458.

The rear suspension design of these cars isn't even designed to be really fast in a straight line. Look at all those guys in e46 M3's that tried to use there cars as drag cars.

Light traffic through several stop lights. On the softest settings, the gear shifts we annoying at best.

I recently ran a 430 Scuderia on the German Autobahn.
I am full bolt on with RB's and meth. We did many runs from 140Km/h to 290Km/h and we were pretty much dead even.
When i was driving behind him i sometimes had the feeling i could reel him in , but let's just say we were even matched.

Not saying they aren't worth the money, or that there aren't other intrinsic things about it that make someone buy one. But I know if I were driving one, and a 335i blew past me, I'd still have a moment or two of "WTF" going through my head. Not all Ferrari owners are motorsports purists. There are a few at the campus near where I work that have them, and for them it's all a status image/symbol. I imagine being "bested" by a BMW in a pull would dampen that high, even if only for a moment or two.

I'd take a 430 over any current BMW although the M5 would be a close call
