Alpine upgrade (too bassy)?

Hi all,
Was wondering if anyone has experienced the same as me. I installed the alpine upgrade a few weeks ago to my 2007 335i. Although its a massive improvement over the standard system it seems a bit too bassy. I even have the bass turned right to the bottom. Also the sound of the bluetooth handsfree is'nt as clear after the install.
I have seen a few posts that mention coding...?
Thanks
Leon

There are switches at the amp and crossover settings that you need to pay attention to. Search for details.

I got the alpine upgrade from bmw. It was 330 with a bit of discount.
-alpine amp
-alpine door speakers
-alpine tweaters
-tweater door mirror pods
-wiring looms

Quite a common upgrade I believe, lots of threads on this.

Maybe the problem is that you improved one end of the sound spectrum without an equivalent improvement in a different part of the spectrum. So now you have to reduce the bass response (even though you have the capability to have a lot of bass) so it doesnt sound "bassy". Alternately, you can improve your midrange. But that isnt easy in our cars.

With the alpine upgrade you get upgraded mid range speakers and tweaters also. So I don't think that is the problem.

How much is the Alpine upgrade? Are they giving you OEM speakers or Type-X level? Which amps?

I did not see you on the UK sub section. IF you go there, you will find coders in your region to assist you with hi-fi coding.
