read what I wrote. I was asking about running 95 octane with stage 2+aggressive, not the beta race map.

If it turns out your car has zero issues with it, great...but I'd want to be sure first. The nice thing about aggressive timing is that it keeps the EGTs down, but you don't want to be knocking all the time under those conditions.
Any benefits to stage 2+ aggressive with 95 octane, instead of 93, at a race course?

It would ensure you hit timing targets, and not drop it. No huge benefit of course. I always like my setup to be slightly over designed for the tune I'm running if I'm going to hit the track.

Has anyone noticed the 100 tune has an odd flat spot at 2700rpm? At all gears it goes flat there but picks up again about 2900-3000.

In unrelated news I ran a 08 Z06 from 40-130 with the tune and FBO and he had me by about 3 cars, not too shabby IMO.

If he was stock and you were on the race map i would expect you to hang much better than that...

Yeah honestly, we put $100 down on it because I figured it would be a close race., and he was a douche bag that thinks his car is the fastest around. My car pulls super hard on that map and I even break em loose in second, I suppose either the Z's gearing is superior or he had an intake+tune and lied to me about it being stock.

If it is something you can replicate, then capture on a log and let's take a look.

I definitely can replicate it. I'll try to get some logs tonight and post em up. I checked logs of the important stuff LTFT STFT and timing corrections and those all looked fine but I'm not really sure how I decipher the other stuff.

Feel like overboosting/throttle closure. Just log std values plus boost setpoint and Maf wgdc (the one with 3 dots in the ap) than get ATR to tone down wgdc base table.

Sigh, my friend just told me he found out after the race the Z06 actually had intake and dyno tune so extra 60-70 horses they said...I got taken for a ride. I knew it should of been more even.

Great e85 calculator. http://www.intercepteft.com/calc.html

I am going with 5 gallons of e85 (Newark Airport stations e85 guaranteed to be min 70%). Factoring in 7% (conservative #) ethanol content of 93 gas @ 11gals with e85 (assume only 70% E70) @ 5 gallons seems to yield 35.6% ethanol. if the e85 they sell is 85% ethanol the calculator yields 42.5% ethanol.

Any thoughts on my mixture/numbers? Any detriment to running a 42.5% mixture (if that's what it happens to be?)

Thanks in advance

You raced a C6 Z06, a mid 11 second car, with a 335i on a beta race map, for $100?

I asked because,

Looks like race gas adds a few horses to the OTS stage 2+?

Thats really shitty of the vette owner, if he was stock you should have been within a car of him if not side by side. Better luck nextime

no, has Marv85 says "It would ensure you hit timing targets" thats it. Basically the map would run at its full potential.
You need to run the RACE gas map to make much more powa

+1, it gives you consistency for that given map.

AS enrita mentioned, to make more power you need to run a map which raises timing/boost over what you have to make use of that additional octane headroom.

Hey thats my video!

As the other guys mentioned...the race gas used during the video was just to maintain timing without any corrections...essentially let it perform to the best of its capabilities...

And at this time there were no public race gas or E85 maps available...so those running COBB had no choice for higher octane maps while everyone else non-COBB was running piggybacks with race gas and/or meth...had to try to at least perform at maximum to even attempt to compete with the other cars..

Ok... I'm seeing recommended mixtures for e85, but what about race gas? Same mix or should I add more or less. Firgure I'll try the race map at the strip on Sunday. Thanks in advance.

For race gas, you just run it straight. You need your mixture to be a 100 octane, so why mess around with mixing. Even if your race gas is a couple of points above 100, run it straight at least you'll ensure your map is running to its full potential. You should also log btw...
(Obviously you will be using the race map not the e30 one )

So, the question is (don't hate me for this one).... how do you not mix gas, drain the tank?

You guys seems to know a lot about e85, I just filled up with 5 gallons of it and loving the power, is it possible to put the cobb on map 0 while still having e85 in the tank? Will the car run fine? also if I run out of e85 should I change the map back or can I drive moderately to the gas station with regular gas on E30 map?
