HELP! 4x4 dsc light and radio stopped working - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

so i was driving early this morning and all of a sudden the 4x4 dsc light came on and the yellow brake light too. and i also noticed my radio stopped playing sound. it would be completely functional, as in buttons and everything worked, but still no sound.

any ideas what it could be?

i just remembered that my mom was driving my car earlier this week and said she had to jumpstart her friend car. could that be related?

Low battery or bad alternator can cause this so get those checked out (most auto part stores do this for free). It can also happen if you've recently disconnected the battery in which case the lights should go off and the radio will come on within a few minutes of driving. Are they persistent or have the lights gone out?
