In relation to fuel consumption, in my 2005/6 330i I get around 11-12s in city driving, but on the highway it is not hard to get this down around 8s, or even lower, and I'm not exactly a featherfoot.

As your in Perth, come up to West Perth one day and take my 335i out for a drive, or I am sure Rey will take you out in his 135i, I am sure that either car will convince you that the extra 7-8k you will spend on a X35i will be worth it!

i like the shape of the 335i either. But as i am buying a second hand car, it seems like any turbo car will have problem easier than the NA car, such as 325i, isnt it?

I have driven a 2.0L engine before, and it records 10-11L/100km, whereas a 2.5L engine records similar fuel consumption like 11L-12L/100km, i feel it's more worthwhile to go for the bigger engine either as i feel like the fuel cost is worth to have the extra power gain.
somehow, there is only a slightly difference between 2.5L, and 3.0 L engine, but the gain in power is a huge difference. I dont mind the fuel consumption of 11-13L over a 3.oL engine, but i am more concern with the potential problem with the turbo car (2nd hand).

As long as the car has been serviced and maintained well there isn't any more potential problem with a turbo car vs NA IMO.

Plus just get a PPI from a shop before buying (I can recommend you my shop ).

I can recommend someone, Tim from Automotive hospital http://www.automotivehospital.com.au/ . I believe he runs his own business and a genuine guy. He did an inspection for me for my 335i when I was at work while he inspected the car at the dealership. Very detailed person. And takes alot of pictures about the car too.

Give him a call he specialized in european cars but he knows his stuff with BMW So glad I called him. His worth it.

He can get advan to to PPI but depends how busy pete is...coz I doubt the seller will purposely drive it to advan to get it inspected??
