as far as I can see, IB will work best with the seats folded?

kicker L7 requires a ported box..
And I would prefer a slot-port vertical in the midde of the two 12" woofers,
pointing "thrue" the ski-hole..

Been thinking of this. Is the slot ports better than normal round ones?

The question is does the OP want SPL or does he want SQ? I always assume that people who drive BMWs want SQ, but there are always exceptions I guess.

Want a little bit of both kinda
Never liked the sound of sealed boxes.
Also know that the BMWs is hard to build stereos in.
My current setup is Dynavin D99 Windows - Focal KRS 100 in front along with Ground Zero Neos under seats, powered by a JBL GTO-804ez. Sounds ok, but lacks the lowest frequencies.

Not when you have an L7!

The corner-loaded enclosure IMO is the best solution for SQ, when compared to regular sealed or ported boxes. BUT, infinite baffle can sound phenomenal when implemented properly. It is not as easy as putting in a box, even though it may sound easy.

Time-permitting, I may experiment with an IB set-up in my car. I do wish I had a ski-hole, which would make this a whole lot easier...

Oh right, i see!

So would you cut a hole in your back seat or something? I would never have the b*lls to do that

You do not need a ported box. I have 1 L7 pushed by a ZX750 in a 1.5 cubic foot sealed box. (that is the minimum recommended size box)

With just the 1 subwoofer, my gas cap latch broke from the vibration. So having 2 will probably give you the same problem.

Had 2 L7 15's in my MazdaSpeed6. My reccomendaion for those L7's, sell them and get an SQ sub. All the L7's in my taste are boomy and inaccurate. They are crazy loud with power, I mean crazy stupid fresh all the other terms Im too old to understand, but loud is the key. Other than that ported.

Edit, also give them more power! They soak it up. If your going for loud, oversized ported box, and crank it up. Also accousticly a slot port and round port should be the same. The box should be built to specs and port should be tuned to a certain frequency regardless of port type. Its about length, timing, and port turbulence. L7's Make it big, tune it low.

That'll have little to do with SQ.

high 30's is good for the L7, dont expect these to be clean accurate bass. As I posted before they are loud but sloppy. You will like them just the same though.

No problem, I do miss them time to time. At 30 Im getting over the big boom and now settled into more of a blending of music. They take some punishment, they get low and loud, but if you have a sharp ear you will hear the note carry longer than requested. Its cool though they are still a very strong woofer.

Assume the 15 L7 will be a bit "slower" than the 12. At age 26 I still like it to play loud and hard

Won't this cause huge amounts of rattling?

Before helping people with bass-related questions, I think we sometimes need to administer a simple litmus test first - something like: Are you a bass-head SPL freak, or are you a SQ nut?
