possible trade in e90 -> f30
I purchased my 09 e90 in the beginning of this past November. Unfortunately the car has been to service 3 times since then for various things ranging from dry rotted seals to the most recent service of turbos being replaced + intake carbon cleaning for hesitation/lack of power. It was a lease turn in that had a full service record, but with the amount of service i've had to get, i'm worried that the car was beat on by the first owner because it was a lease.
That being said, when I was at the dealership this morning there was a fully loaded 2013 sedan 335i msport on the floor that looked really sharp. Sticker on it was a tad over 54 and had msport package, optional M 19's, navi, comfort access, etc. Finance would give me 26k for my car (bought it for 29) which would give me a surplus on the loan of 4k towards the new one. I'd add in another 12 down. Financing would drop from 2.9 down to 1.9, and i qualify for a 1500 loyalty credit + first 3 payments made for me. Does this sound like a good deal? When looking for my e90, i didnt look at new ones, so i'm not even sure what they should be priced at. Floating the cash isnt a big deal, i'm just mostly worried about my current sedan being a problem down the road and it costing an arm and a leg to keep running. I'd love to get into something new where i can create the history on it instead of being mostly in the dark about a previous owner.

Doesn't sound bad to me, especially since you just had to replace your turbos. I have a friend (should say acquaintance) with a 335 who neglects his car seriously and has replaced his turbos 3 times and he doesn't have high mileage. I would hate for a person like him to have been the kind of person to have your car before you. I always worry about that stuff.

That sounds like a solid deal to me. I can't believe they will pay that much for your car. If its a jump you want to make I wouldn't wait too long

It was a one time fee that I rolled into my loan. The one I got was for 5 additional years or 100,000 miles on the odometer. So if you have an older car like 07-08 with low mileage this is a perfect solution.

They're willing to pay your 1st 3 payments? That sounds a little too good to be true. You can finance the car for 12 months and have them pay off 25% of the loan and then refinance the rest after 3 months.

Sounds like a very competitive deal. If you feel comfortable money wise, I would go for the F30. TBH, you'll always wonder about the previous owner's lack of care.
Unless you pick up a car with under 15k miles, it is usually relatively costly to reverse the neglect of a previous owner fully. |

Good thing is you don't have too much equity built into your e90 so if you want to switch now would be the time. Good interest plus incentives on new cars makes getting a new car worthwhile. -John
