A Noob With A Question on M3 Suspension

Hi Everyone,

I am picking up my '06 325xi and I already have a long list of things I'd like to do...thanks to these forums! A specific question I cannot seem to answer through searching is will a set of E90 M3 (06 as well) springs be a direct swap for my stock springs? While I'm in there I'll certainly do the struts as well (approaching 100k) but no sense in getting the springs if they won't fit without more modifications.

Thanks in advance!

i was just asking that the other day about my car which is the same as you're minus awd and i was told, in a nutshell, NO. doing a m3 set up is possible but MUCH more involved than just swapping out springs. further more as i've also looked into the zsp set up, you need to swap shock's with springs because the lower springs with different flex will cause too much compression on the non sport shocks and kill them off quickly. sorry for the news.

You must not have searched very long. Your question has been answered in this forum for the past 5 years.

Thanks for the snarky comment...

When you could have used those keystrokes to write something helpful or nothing at all. I'm new to the E90 and to the board and I apparently could have spent longer searching to find a post that mentioned the M3 springs. If you are all so busy that you can't be bothered writing about something that might have been answered somewhere before, how do you have time to make nasty comments. I'll be sure to look for my answers somewhere other than this board.

Yea sluggo you'll need to get used to it. while it's a great forum there are some SERIOUS forum nazi's. usually identified by the amount of mods they've done. search and search but there's no crime in starting a thread IF you can't figure something out.

fyi: I find google better for searching through forum history better than the forum search feature.

use "site:e90post.com your search terms"

e.g. in google's search box "site:e90post.com hpa coilovers"
