Procede to stock then back to Procede

Hey guys this is a continuation of my previous post http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73379

A quick recap of what has happened.

I installed my procede and felt GREAT power gains. I decided to get her dynoed to see how much i was actually putting to the ground. The day of the dyno the car felt like it was loosing power... I dismissed this as me getting used to the added HP. I also felt some flat spots in the power curve... Anyways... I dynoed the car, on the first run the car hit 286RWHP and on her best run she hit 299RWHP. I felt like a kid that just broke his new xmas present... I talked to shiv and his tech, they just said it could only be bad gas, as i wasn't throwing any engine codes. OK fine i ran the tank near empty and added new gas, still felt slow...

Now i have hooked-up with someone that has been tuning and dynoing cars since the early 80's, he has the latest dynojet with all the sensor possible.
(last dyno only read HP)

I'm going to do three sets of "runs". 1) stock 94 octance. 2) Procede installed with little ecu adjustment time. 3) One week after Procede installed, to see the difference after the ecu adjusts.

I'm headed to the shop tomorrow at 10am, i'll post results as soon as i get back.

Wish me luck !

Best of luck. Hopefully you will magically break 400whp with just the procede.

One can always have dreams

The guy at the tuning shop said he ran two other Proceded 335's, one was also down on power; the customer sent the data to vishnu and vishnu sent him back a map that was "tweaked" for his car. I'm sure vishnu dosen't want to make this standard practice, but has anyone recived a custom map for their car ???

This is all so i'm not sure...

This is also news to me. AFAIK, the last time we ever sent custom maps to anyone was during the Xede beta testing period last year. And it was not for the purpose of more/less power output either. Someone is giving you bad info.

OK thanks Shiv.

I talked to Dustin today and regardless of new power output i'll be sending you guys the data from all the runs. I'm sure you have enough but the more the better right

Your ecm is using Long term fuel trim to adjust your driving habit with your procede. it will auto adjust itself after about 1 month or so..Shoot your dyno result is better than mine.. Dude was ur dyno measure with your rim and tire on or off? tire off is slidely high result than rim is on

BMW doesn't really use the term "Short or Long Term fuel trim" or "ECM" or "ECU". That's more of an OBD2 generic term.

BMW uses the terms:

DME - Digital Motor Electronics (thats the Engine ECU)

Additive Adaptation for idle fuel mixture in seconds
and
Multiplicative adaptation for part throttle loads (fuel mixture %)

Adaptation starts whenever the car is at idle and running at part throttle.

Thanks man.

I was driving around stock today and it's funny cause it felt almost like with the procede in. Also when i removed the procede one of the wires in the yellow wiring loom broke off... Not sure but maybe this could be the germlin that cause me to loose power . I brought it to an electronic shop, got new resistors, got it soldered and tested. Hopfully were good to go. 9hrs till dyno time !! :rocks:
